Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.\nPratt & Whitney is seeking a goal-oriented, detail-focused Principal Design Engineer to support the Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) team in West Palm Beach, Florida. This role supports commercial and military products through production support, quality corrective actions, engineering changes, cost reduction, and producibility improvements. The engineer will work across operations, quality, procurement, engineering SMEs, and outsource teams to resolve technical issues and drive continuous improvement.\nWhat You Will Do:\nPlan and manage corrective-action activities associated with Quality Notifications (QNs), cost reduction, and production support, driving issues through root-cause investigation and closure.\nDevelop Class II engineering change packages using Pro-Cert methodology and data-driven decision-making to improve quality, cost, and producibility metrics.\nLead Engineering First Piece Reviews at suppliers, Cost of Poor Quality and production improvement initiatives, identify process waste, and proactively eliminate recurring QNs and repeat analysis.\nCollaborate with operations, quality, procurement, engineering SMEs, outsource teams, and suppliers to develop and implement product and process improvements while strengthening technical execution.\nPrepare and present technical content and program status to CIPTs, CSE/ESTO management, and Program Management, while capturing lessons learned and supporting continuous improvement.\nTravel Requirement: Up to 10% | Domestic, International.\nWhat You Will Learn:\nGain experience managing Quality Notifications, corrective actions, and engineering changes for commercial and military aerospace products.\nDevelop expertise in Pro-Cert methodology, data-driven decision-making, cost reduction, and producibility improvement.\nBuild cross-functional leadership experience working with engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and outsource organizations.\nGain exposure to CIPT processes and technical approval responsibilities for applicable hardware part families.\nStrengthen technical communication, leadership, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement skills.\nQualifications You Must Have:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field with 5 years of relevant experience. ESTO covers all engine programs and part families, enabling engine deliveries, first piece reviews, first article inspections, analysis automation, process certification. ESTO also supports the Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) initiative in Operations.
