Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.\nOverview:\nThe Principal Engineer - Power Electronics would lead the design, development and qualification of high power electronics for motor controllers for Advanced Structures Electronic Controllers team. Candidate should be specialist/ SME with High Power Electronics product development experience such as DC/AC, DC/DC and AC Drives and its corresponding test equipment systems.\nWhat You Will Do *\nOwn and drive hardware architecture, component selection, and topology for motor drives, inverter stages optimized for power density, efficiency, weight and multi-lane fault tolerance.\nArchitect and validate designs to successfully clear stringent DO-160 emissions and susceptibility limits.\nCreate detailed electrical schematics & develop detailed design description document.\nDefine test strategies and oversee execution for board bring-up, Design Verification Testing (DVT), and motor dynamometer test-bench validation.\nLead critical design reviews, mentor hardware design engineers, and drive root-cause analysis for complex hardware anomalies.\n Ensures design for manufacturing, cost, quality, reliability and certification.\nQualifications You Must Have *\nMaster /Bachelor of Engineering (BE/BTech.) degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering with 12+ years of relevant experience preferably Aerospace.\n12-15yrs Experience in High Power electronics domain such as DC/DC and DC/AC converters design, AC drives and field-oriented control hardware implementation\nStrong fundamentals in Semiconductor switches (MOSEFT, IGBT), Gate drivers, Passive components, ADC/DAC, Filters etc.\nHands on experience with any one of the Power converter design and analysis (AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC, AC-AC) in the Strong understanding of Sensing and protection circuits and schemes (Over voltage, over current, Over temperature etc.)\nUnderstanding Grounding schemes related to (Functional, safety isolations, Low level signal vs high power ), EMI/EMC, Lightning.\nExperience in power supply/ Motor drive related PCB layout, EMC, thermal design.\nExperience in serial protocol such as CAN, I2C, SPI, UART, etc.\nExpert in using lab test equipment such as DMM, oscilloscope, data logger\nGood understanding of conducted/Radiated Emissions, susceptibilities\nExperience in full product development lifecycle (requirements through qualification).\nExperience in Electrical CAD tools (Altium, Mentor graphics Schematics & Layout tools, Allegro).\nExperience in LTSpice and Matlab simulation.\nExperience in modeling and simulation tools for thermal, efficiency, and stability analysis.\nExposure to:Thermal management and EMI/EMC in aerospace systems and\nIndustry standards such as DO-254, DO-160 & Mil-704F.\n\nUnderstanding of aerospace environmental requirements, particularly DO-160\nExtensive experience with motor-actuator dynamometer setups, high-voltage safety protocols, and precision instrumentation.\nStrong technical leadership and decision-making ability\nExcellent communication and technical writing skills\nProven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams\nQualifications We Prefer\nExperience with aerospace electro-mechanical actuators\nDirect experience developing hardware under DO-254 Design Assurance Level (DAL A to C) regulations.\nFamiliarity with aerospace systems safety analysis processes including FMEA\nAbility to travel internationally for occasional design review meetings with peers / customers and system level of integration activities.\nMotor controller development using high-performance microcontrollers/FPGA\n\nWE ARE REDEFINING AEROSPACE.\nSome of our competitive benefits package includes:\nTransportation facility.\nMeal coupons\nGroup Term Life Insurance.\nGroup Health Insurance.\nGroup Personal Accident Insurance.\nEntitled for 18 days of vacation and 12 days of sick leave annually.\nEmployee scholar program\nWork life balance\nCar lease program\nNational Pension Scheme\nLTA\nFuel & Maintenance /Driver wages\nMeal vouchers\nAnd more!\nNothing matters more to Collins Aerospace than our strong ethical and safety commitments.
