If so, we’d like to discuss your career in Mechanical Engineering at Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) in Goleta, CA.\nThis position is onsite in our Goleta, CA location.\nWhat You Will Do\nDeveloping initial concepts of Opto-Mechanical Assemblies through final part design using 3D Solid Modeling.\nPerform Design for Manufacturability Trade Studies to optimize fabrication / integration cost reductions.\nIterate designs with Structural / Thermal Analysts to optimize survival / reliability requirements.\nComplete Technical Data Package (TDP) 2D documentation of Solid Model designs.\nCreate Initial Releases and perform Revisions of TDP in Product Data Management (PDM) system.\nCooperate as an integral member of the Integrated Product Team (IPT) contributing to successful program outcomes under demanding cost and schedule constraints.\nInitial planned duties might be Manufacturing support in a Sustaining / Liaison Engineering role.\nTrack and report progress against schedule milestone requirements to meet drawing release dates.\nOccasionally delegate assignments to less experienced Engineers and check their work for accuracy.\nWillingness to perform Sustaining Engineering duties in support of the Manufacturing Department.\nCommunicate effectively with Management and IPT status of daily assignments.\nQualifications You Must Have\nTypically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience\nExperience in mechanical design with 3-D CAD Modeling Tools (CREO preferred).\nExperienced in PDM release (Windchill preferred).\nExperienced in GD&T per ANSI Y14.5 and performing tolerance stack-up analysis.\nQualifications We Prefer\nExperience in Mechanical design preferably in the Infra-red Dewar products or Aerospace industry.\nExperience developing detailed mechanical designs for optical, electrical and/or mechanical systems.\nExperience designing products for cryogenic environments.\nExperience leading large teams, interfacing with internal / external customers, and guiding other engineers.\nExperience leading Peer Review meetings.\nExperience with Gate Release process for product development.\nExperience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS).\nExperience Managing Program Schedules and Budgets and reporting status to Program Management.\nExperience creating Proposals for business development.\nAdvanced degree in Mechanical Engineering.\nWhat We Offer\nA total rewards package that goes above and beyond with compensation; healthcare, wellness, and work/life benefits; career development and recognition programs.
