Join our fast-paced agile teams on the leading edge of technology.\nAs a Principal Embedded Software Engineer, you will play a key role in architecting, designing, and implementing embedded real-time software solutions for complex systems that integrate hardware, firmware, and software. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure product quality, functionality, and performance. Your contributions will directly impact the development of mission-critical systems.\nWhat You Will Do\nArchitect, design, implement, test, and debug integrated embedded real-time software within heterogeneous systems composed of firmware and hardware.\nLead software development efforts for teams of 3 to 4 engineers.\nCollaborate with cross-discipline teams to define, refine, and improve product concepts, implementation, testability, and measurable quality.\nTeach, coach, and mentor less experienced staff to enhance team capabilities.\nContribute to proposals, preliminary design reviews, and critical design reviews.\nParticipate in the integration and testing of embedded real-time software applications written in C++ or closely related software languages.\nWork with real-time operating systems such as Linux or VxWorks.\nEngage in occasional business-related travel as required, up to 10%.\nThis job is onsite in Plano, TX; local residency or relocation required.\nQualifications You Must Have\nTypically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience.\nExperience with embedded real-time software development, including:\nDeveloping, testing, and integrating real-time software applications written in C++ or closely related software languages.\nDevelopment on Linux, VxWorks, or other Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)\nIntegrating hardware, firmware, and software in complex systems\nMinimum of 2 years of prior Special Access Program (SAP) experience or similar classified program experience\nActive and transferable Top Secret with SCI U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain Special Program Access after start.\nQualifications We Prefer\nDemonstrated leadership experience, formal or informal, such as mentoring junior engineers, coordinating small technical initiatives, facilitating team collaboration, driving engineering best practices, and/or guiding peers toward successful delivery.\nExperience working in lab environments with physical hardware, such as test benches or simulators.\nAbility to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases.\nExperience with product development utilizing Scrum techniques within the Agile software development process.\nExperience with DevSecOps pipeline implementation and use, including static code analysis, automated build, and automated test techniques using continuous integration/continuous delivery with a test-driven development approach.\nHands-on experience with Git for version control and GitLab or Artifactory for repository management.\nWhat We Offer\nOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
