Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.\nThe following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services team:\nThe Enterprise Services (ES) Controllership Organization is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical accounting professional to join our General Accounting Team. The ES Controllership organization is responsible for safeguarding assets managed by the Enterprise Services group, ensuring accuracy of financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Section 404. This role will support Accounts Payable (A/P) Accounting along with other general accounting tasks and controllership activities across ES.\nWhat You Will Do\nPerform daily, monthly, and quarterly general accounting activities including journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, variance analysis, and supporting documentation.\nSupport A/P accounting reconciliations, accruals, and exception resolution.\nAssist with close activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness in accordance with established schedules.\nAnalyze general ledger balances and identify opportunities to improve account accuracy, streamline processes, and reduce financial risk.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams-including A/P, Procurement, Cash Accounting, and FP&A-to research issues, resolve discrepancies, and support process improvements.\nMaintain compliance with internal controls and support SOX 404 testing requirements, including documentation, remediation activities, and ongoing monitoring.\nPrepare and support audit requests (internal and external) by providing accurate schedules, reconciliations, and explanations.\nAssist with special projects related to standardization, automation, and enhancements in accounting processes within ES.\nContribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying process gaps and recommending actionable solutions to strengthen controllership.\nGenerate financial reports when necessary and provide insights to support decision-making processes, including monthly flux analysis and quarterly preparation and presentation of flux explanations for the Significant Judgments and Events (SJE) Memo and Trial Balance Review (TBR).\nProvide support for ad hoc accounting and analysis requests, including research of financial transactions, preparation of supporting documentation, and completion of one-off controllership tasks as needed.\nParticipate in rotational coverage of ES group mailboxes, ensuring timely review and processing of journal entry requests, cost transfers, and other incoming accounting inquiries.\n Qualifications You Must Have\nA Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.\nExperience in accounting software (SAP, Blackline, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.\nQualifications We Prefer\nKnowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 compliance.\nExcellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nHigh attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.\nAbility to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage deadlines in a dynamic environment.\nStrong analytical skills with the ability to work with detailed edata and perform complex problem solving.\nWhat We Offer\nWhether you’re just starting out on your career journey or are an experienced professional, we offer a robust total rewards package with compensation; healthcare, wellness, retirement and work/life benefits; career development and recognition programs.
