Raytheon Canada Limited offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package\nPrincipal Specialist, Product Design\nRaytheon Waterloo is seeking a Principal Specialist, Product Design to be part of the team supporting legacy and Next Generation Airport Traffic Control (ATC) programs. The candidate will work with a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team consisting of product design, systems, software, and manufacturing engineers to develop engineering solutions from conceptualization through prototype development, testing, documentation, and production of mechanical designs and electronic configuration deliverables. This role will have the added specialty of site design for the installation of ATC systems.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign major mechanical components or major portions of functional systems, technically advanced prototypes, and specific products using computer design and engineering systems.\nDevelop documentation necessary to install ATC radar equipment at a customer site including, but not limited to:Site layout drawings\nEquipment room layout drawings\nPictorials to aid the installation team\nWritten instructions to aid the installation team\nPower and signal cable drawings\n\nGenerate parts lists and change documentation to support product life cycle maintenance.\nDevelop and/or improve products and facilitates manufacturing operations. \nDevelops data and makes parametric models, layouts, sketches, and notes for design proposals.\nDefine and maintain configuration management through ERP/BOM/Parts Lists to ensure released engineering data quality, including obsolescence of electronic components. \nInvestigate pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replace ability, obsolescence, and contractual specification requirements and cost. \nAdhere to and participate in all EHS practices and standards across the site, including but not limited to proactive reporting of observed hazards and recommendations to ensure the safety and well-being of self and others.\nRequirements:\nCollege Diploma or University Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent experience, preferably Electronic or Electrical Engineering.\nPreferably with at least 4 years of involvement in a design organization producing mechanical component level designs and configuration management.\nExperience with and a strong understanding of electrical codes.\nExperience with cable and harness design.\nFamiliarity working with electronic components and reviewing supplier specifications to match requirements.\nAdvanced experience in any of these design software applications: NX/Solid Edge, Solid Works or other complex CAD software applications.\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including MS Excel and PowerPoint.\nWhy Join Us?\nAt Raytheon, we are driven by a shared mission: to protect and connect the world.
