Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.\nPratt & Whitney’s Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) organization is seeking a proactive, goal-oriented, and detail-focused Principal Structures Engineer to support commercial engine programs at Columbus Forge in Columbus, Georgia. In this role, you will perform structural assessments of compressor system blades and vanes while partnering with Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPT), ESTO, quality, and manufacturing engineering teams to resolve technical issues and improve hardware producibility.\nWhat You Will Do:\nExecute structural analyses for Low-Pressure Compressor (LPC) and High-Pressure Compressor (HPC) components using hand calculations, 2D/3D finite element modeling, approved engineering tools, and engineering judgment.\nPerform structural assessments for proactive redesigns and improvement projects, including initiatives such as Athena for airfoil functional acceptance, to improve product producibility and performance.\nAnalyze and support the evaluation and disposition of quality nonconformances and supplier requests for information, identifying technical issues and recommending appropriate resolutions.\nCollaborate with CIPT, ESTO, quality, and manufacturing engineering teams to identify problems, develop solutions, and complete structural engineering deliverables.\nDocument structural analyses and present technical results, conclusions, and recommendations to integrated product teams, management, and customers.\nTravel Requirement: less than 10% | Domestic, International\nWhat You Will Learn:\nGain advanced structural analysis experience supporting LPC and HPC compressor blades and vanes.\nDevelop exposure to commercial engine cold-section rotating and static hardware.\nBuild experience using hand calculations, 2D/3D finite element modeling, ANSYS, and Pratt & Whitney engineering standards.\nGain experience supporting producibility improvements, quality investigations, supplier requests, and proactive engineering projects.\nStrengthen technical communication and leadership skills through collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and program teams.\nQualifications You Must Have:\nBachelor of Science degree in Engineering and 8 years of relevant engineering experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field and 5 years of relevant experience.
