Ultimately, you’ll work for the British Army, championing innovation, and helping shape the future of military training.\nRaytheon UK is seeking a highly capable and experienced Principal Subcontract Specialist to support and lead key subcontracting activities across the British Army Collective Training Transformation Programme (CTTP). This P3-level role is ideal for a professional with good knowledge of subcontract management, who can work independently, communicate with stakeholders, and drive operational improvements & performance of our suppliers supporting British Army Training.\nKey Responsibilities:\nManage Subcontractors / Suppliers with moderately sized contracts (£10 - £40m) with minimal oversight, ensuring alignment with business objectives.\nManage small projects or subcontracting processes with autonomy and accountability for delivery.\nApply advanced knowledge of subcontracting practices to solve difficult and occasionally complex problems across multiple work areas.\nManagement and negotiation of contracts, non-disclosure agreements and terms and conditions.\nProvide coaching and guidance to junior professionals, ensuring quality and consistency in subcontract execution.\nCommunicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders, including suppliers and customers, to align on policies, practices, and procedures.\nInfluence operational decisions and contribute to the development and enhancement of subcontracting processes and systems.\nDeliver day-to-day objectives that have a significant impact on operational results within the programme.\nWho we are looking for:\nWe’re after individuals who want to serve. You’ll have a mission focus, and the enthusiasm and drive to ‘get things done’. You’ll want to work in collaboration with other defence training organisations, and the British Army. You won’t let bureaucracy get in the way of what needs to be done, you’ll learn lessons and share these lessons across the team. You won’t necessarily have a military background, but you’ll understand what it means to serve and to put the mission first.\nA university degree (preferably in a STEM or business-related field) or equivalent experience.\nPractical knowledge of subcontract management, supplier engagement, and contract execution.\nStrong analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate mostly independently, engage and communicate across functions and make informed decisions.\nExperience in managing subcontracting activities and contributing to planning.\nExperience in coaching & guiding junior team members.\nGood communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at an operational level.\nEligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC level) is essential\nExperience operating in joint or matrixed teams\nAbility to communicate across military and industry partners\nFocused on outcomes, delivery, and operational excellence.\nRTX adheres to the principles of equal employment.
