Learn from the best in a high calibre team with great benefits and professional development.\nYour mission starts here at Raytheon Australia.\nWe’re seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join our team and contribute to the ongoing evolution of the Collins Class Submarine Combat System, one of Australia’s most critical Defence capabilities.\nWorking within multidisciplinary teams, you’ll apply your systems engineering expertise across the full capability lifecycle, contributing to the design, integration and enhancement of complex Defence systems.\nAt Raytheon Australia, you’ll work alongside some of the industry’s most experienced engineering professionals, supported by flexible working arrangements, global expertise and a commitment to technical excellence.\nAs part of the Project Integrated Project Team, and reporting to the Senior Principal Systems Engineer, you’ll work closely with stakeholders across engineering, program delivery and the customer community to solve complex technical challenges, support capability enhancement activities, and help integrate new technologies into the Collins Class submarine fleet. \nKey Responsibilities\n\nDesign, develop and implement product solutions for integration into the Combat System.\nLead and conduct product verification and validation activities, ensuring alignment with design requirements and system specifications.\nGenerate and maintain product design certification documentation in accordance with system and product certification requirements.\nProvide engineering support to transition products and capabilities into operational service.\nConduct technical risk analysis and support the planning, documentation and execution of verification and validation activities.\nLead technical reviews throughout the project lifecycle, including peer reviews, preliminary and detailed design reviews, and test readiness reviews.\nProvide mentoring to junior engineers, supporting the application of systems engineering methodologies, tools and processes.\nSkills, Experience and Qualifications\n\nDegree qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline with eligibility to hold Chartered Professional (CPEng) standing and an appropriate level of Design Authority delegation to support system Design Certification activities.\nMinimum 8 years’ experience in Systems Engineering involving one or more of the following: requirements definition, requirements management, analysis design, integration and verification across Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Communications, Software and/or Combat/RF Systems.\nDemonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across customer, supplier, peer and senior leadership groups.\nSound understanding of project delivery milestones, couples with the ability to work autonomously and delivery quality outcomes against scheduled commitments.\nAbility to undertake travel as required to meet the needs of the role.\nSuccessful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) Security clearance as needed.
