Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.\nWhat You Will Do:\nProjects will range from engine safety, production stoppage, new/repair technology development, cost reduction, etc. where the engineer will understand customer requirements and execute development programs to meet and exceed business needs.\nThe candidate will collaborate with other internal engineering disciplines, engineering management and manufacturing customers as part of an Integrated Product Team to ensure the successful transition and implementation of technology into Pratt & Whitney’s products.\nThis role will serve as a recognized subject matter expert in hot corrosion, stress corrosion cracking (SCC), metallic coatings, and high-temperature coating technologies, driving material solutions that improve reliability, durability, and performance of critical components.\nLead the development and qualification of advanced metallic and high-temperature coating systems.\nThe candidate is expected to be proficient in materials characterization methods (mechanical, physical & metallography) of high temperature coatings and materials.\nThe candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment and be highly motivated. \nThe Principal Engineer will lead complex technical initiatives, influence technology strategy, mentor engineering talent, managing projects, and updating engineering standard work.\nQualifications You Must Have:\nBS degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related technical field and minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience or 5+ years with an advanced degree. \nFundamental understanding of aerospace coating application methods and process optimization tools\nAbility to build positive relationships.\nStrong communication skills and be highly motivated.\nU.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract. \nTravel Requirements: 10%.\nQualifications We Prefer:\nAdvanced degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related technical field and minimum 5 years of experience\nBackground in application processes such as diffusion process, Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD), thermal spraying, and plating, gas turbine engine alloys, and high pressure turbine design. \nFundamental understanding of effects of environmental contaminates such as dirt, sulfur and salt on performance of aerospace materials.\nExperience in data collection, data management, and data analysis methods with a fundamental understanding of material and process modeling.\nWorking with teams and multi-year multidisciplinary programs; while able to perform in a fast paced and dynamic work environment with experience with Lean/Six Sigma tools is a plus. \nExperience with program planning, cost estimation and scheduling in addition to meeting contractual requirements during execution is preferred.\nWhat We Offer:\nBenefits\nRelocation Package\nLearn More & Apply Now\nWhat Is My Role Type: In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work.
