The postholder will work with business owners and programme teams to improve existing repositories and support future system changes. The role is remote based, with attendance at Winnersh and other programme locations as required for workshops, system set-up, migration, testing, training and issue resolution.\nResponsibilities\nApply Delta Programme and CMDC Configuration Management and Data Management plans, processes and standards, and support the maintenance of Data Management plans and procedures.\nMaintain records of data ownership, authoritative sources, classification, lifecycle status, decisions, exceptions and corrective actions.\nDefine and maintain metadata, naming conventions, taxonomies, identifiers, data definitions and cross-system mappings.\nMonitor data quality, compare anticipated and received data against agreed requirements, and coordinate resolution with accountable owners.\nSupport the design, set-up, testing and ongoing maintenance of SharePoint libraries, structured file-based repositories and future systems.\nSupport controlled data migration and repository reorganisation while preserving provenance, classification, access controls and traceability.\nMaintain data lineage and contribute to the Programme Information Model linking requirements, courseware, media, devices, assets, deliverables and configuration records.\nApply lifecycle controls from creation or receipt through validation, use, retention and authorised disposal.\nMaintain and reconcile physical and digital asset information, including identity, ownership, custodianship, location, status, version and relationships.\nCoordinate and record controlled data transfers to and from customers, suppliers and programme teams, including the receipt of amendments and final programme handover, ensuring provenance, security, acceptance status and authorised changes of ownership or custodianship are recorded.\nIntegrate data management with configuration and change control by providing reliable data quality, lineage and impact evidence.\nApply security, classification, access, handling and distribution controls for sensitive or classified information and escalate material concerns.\nProduce management reports and evidence to support programme, customer and supplier reviews and audits.\nMaintain records of decisions, procedures and working practices to support knowledge transfer, programme handover and continuous improvement.\nRequired experience\nApplied knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK CDMP or comparable professional data management principles.\nHands-on data management experience in a complex, regulated or multi-organisation environment.\nThorough understanding of data lifecycle control, data quality, document management and information governance, including the relationship between data, assets, configuration and change control.\nExperience in creating, maintaining and applying Data Management Plans, organisational procedures and agreed controls.\nPractical experience using SharePoint to structure, maintain and govern information repositories.\nExperience using Windchill or another PLM or PDM platform.\nExperience supporting controlled data migration, repository change or system implementation.\nExperience maintaining and reconciling physical or digital asset information across its lifecycle.\nExperience working with sensitive or classified information and applying security, access and handling requirements.\nProficient use of Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Excl, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.\nStrong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge weak evidence and escalate material risk.\nDesirable experience\nDMP certification or comparable professional data management training.\nExperience in defence, aerospace, engineering, training, digital content, media or another regulated delivery environment.\nWorking knowledge of Def-Stan 05-057.\nExperience using Kahootz or comparable secure collaborative data exchange environment to support controlled information sharing.\nExperience using Jira or equivalent tools to manage, tasks, issues and workflows.\nExperience working with customer or supplier data-exchange environments.\nExperience using Power BI or equivalent reporting and data analysis tools.\nRTX adheres to the principles of equal employment.
