This role is ideal for an engineer with strong technical skills in automation and digital manufacturing, who also brings a foundational understanding of materials science to support process development and material-technology alignment.\nYou’ll work on next-generation manufacturing solutions involving robotic integration, 3D printing, and smart production systems across multiple application areas.\nKey Responsibilities\nAdvanced Manufacturing (Primary Focus)\nDevelop and optimize robotic systems for automated and autonomous manufacturing workflows.\nSupport the design and implementation of additive manufacturing processes for both prototyping and functional parts.\nIntegrate robotics into AM systems for tasks such as material handling, inspection, and post-processing.\nDevelop control algorithms and automation scripts using tools such as ROS, Python, or PLC programming environments.\nTroubleshoot and improve existing manufacturing setups, emphasizing repeatability, precision, and throughput.\nMaterials Engineering (Secondary Focus)\nApply basic materials knowledge to support selection and qualification of polymers, metals, and composites for AM applications.\nInterpret material property data and failure modes to recommend design and process changes.\nCollaborate with materials engineer to understand interactions between processing parameters and material behavior.\nGeneral Responsibilities\nContribute to experimental design, data collection, and analysis of manufacturing process performance.\nWork collaboratively across engineering disciplines to scale lab concepts into robust production-ready systems.\nDocument processes, findings, and results in technical reports and presentations.\nStay up to date with advancements in robotics, additive manufacturing, and smart materials.\nOperate and maintain laboratory and workshop equipment, including 3D printers, Robotic arms, and Automation rigs.\nPerform testing and characterization of materials, components, and assemblies.\nDocument test procedures, analyze results, and prepare reports with recommendations.\nRequired Qualifications\nA degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field.\nStrong foundation in robotics, automation, or controls engineering.\nHands-on experience with additive manufacturing systems (Desktop FDM)\nFamiliarity with basic materials science principles and their relevance to manufacturing processes.\nKnowledgeable in CAD (e.g., CATIA, NX, Fusion 360) and programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, C++).\nStrong problem-solving abilities and communication skills.\nEagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.\nAbility to collaborate with other team.\nPreferred Qualifications\nKnowledge of AM post-processing techniques and quality inspection methods.\nExposure to material testing techniques or design-for-AM principles.\nFamiliarity with simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus, or robotic path simulation).\nRTX adheres to the principles of equal employment.
