Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.\nThe following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services team in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico:\nThis position provides technical ownership of the SAP Basis landscape supporting RTX's enterprise application environment. The SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day stability, performance, and security of SAP systems, working autonomously to maintain a resilient technical foundation that enables the business to operate without interruption. This role sits within the Application Technical Services (ATS) organization and partners closely with platform services, application security, and enterprise integration teams to ensure SAP systems are reliable, secure, and positioned to scale with RTX's evolving technology needs.\nWhat You Will Do\nAdminister, monitor, and maintain SAP Basis environments (ECC, S/4HANA, and associated SAP NetWeaver systems), ensuring consistent system availability and performance across production and non-production landscapes.\nPerform SAP system installations, upgrades, patching, and technical migrations, coordinating change windows to minimize business disruption.\nManage transport administration across the SAP landscape, ensuring changes move through development, quality, and production environments in a controlled and auditable manner.\nOwn system performance tuning and capacity planning, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks before they impact end users.\nAdminister SAP client environments, including client copies, client refreshes, and system landscape configuration.\nExecute and validate backup and disaster recovery procedures, ensuring RTX's SAP environment meets business continuity and resiliency requirements.\nMonitor system health using SAP Solution Manager and related tooling, responding to alerts and resolving incidents within established SLAs.\nPartner with cross-functional teams, application security, enterprise integration, and platform services, to support secure-by-design principles and DevSecOps practices within the SAP environment.\nDocument technical procedures, runbooks, and configuration standards to support operational consistency and knowledge continuity across the team.\nCoach and review the work of lower-level Basis professionals, providing technical guidance on complex system issues.\nThis position will reference written work instructions for guidance with daily job activities. Work instructions are available in English only.\nQualifications You Must Have\nTypically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience.\nExperience with administering SAP Basis environments, including system installation, upgrades, patching, and transport management.\nExperience working with SAP system architecture, including database administration fundamentals, application server configuration, and system landscape design.\nExperience troubleshooting and resolving complex, sometimes ambiguous technical issues that require drawing on prior experience and analysis across multiple systems or work areas.\nExperience coaching or reviewing the work of peer technical professionals.\nExperience with enterprise SAP systems, with the ability to identify and implement moderate improvements to processes, configurations, or performance within the SAP environment.\nQualifications We Prefer\nDemonstrated ability to work autonomously with limited oversight, exercising sound technical judgment on system changes and issue resolution.\nExperience with SAP S/4HANA Basis administration and migration projects.\nFamiliarity with SAP Solution Manager, database administration (HANA, Oracle, or equivalent), and system monitoring tools.\nExperience working within a near-shore, offshore, or multi-site global delivery model, collaborating across on-shore and near-shore teams.\nWorking knowledge of SAP security and authorization concepts, including coordination with GRC or identity governance teams.\nExperience supporting SAP systems within a large, complex, regulated enterprise environment.\nFamiliarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira) and change/incident management processes.\nExposure to automation, scripting, or Infrastructure as Code practices applied to SAP system administration.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence peers and cross-functional stakeholders on Basis-related policies, practices, and procedures.\nWhat We Offer\nWhether you’re just starting out on your career journey or are an experienced professional, we offer a robust total rewards package with compensation; healthcare, wellness, retirement and work/life benefits; career development and recognition programs.
