Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.\nDepartment Overview:\nThe Air Defense Ground Equipment Mechanical Design Department is responsible for the mechanical design, development, and integration of critical defense platform systems.\nThis includes radar and communications shelters, electronic subsystems, launchers, hardware integration, and system interconnects.\n\nWe are currently seeking a Section Leader - Manager, Mech. Eng\nRole is an On-Site role in Tewksbury, MA/Andover, MA\nWhat You Will Do\nLead multi-disciplinary engineering teams with responsibility for cost, schedule, and technical performance.\n\nConduct performance reviews and support recruitment and retention efforts.\n\nGuide mechanical design efforts from concept and trade studies through detailed design, production transition, and supplier support.\n\nDevelop and integrate mechanical hardware and electronics packaging (chassis, modules, circuit card assemblies, printed wiring boards, and interconnects).\n\nApply materials selection, manufacturing processes, GD&T, and tolerance analysis to ensure quality and reliability.\n\nSupport project execution, including proposal development (BOEs), EVMS/EAC tracking, and Risk & Opportunity management.\n\nConduct root cause and corrective action analysis and present findings to leadership and stakeholders.\n\nSupport the factory and suppliers with product integration domestically and internationally.\n\nManagement reporting, development of clear concise technical and programmatic presentations enabling informed/strategic decisions.\n\nLeading cross-functional design/development efforts within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), including Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Program Management.\n\nStrategies for leading technical solutions that meet complex user requirements while balancing schedule and budget.\n\nQualifications You Must Have\nTypically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 5 years’ experience.\n\nExperience leading engineering teams with responsibility for cost, schedule, and technical execution.\n\nExperience with mechanical design expertise, including trade studies, detailed design, production transition, and supplier support.\n\nExperience with materials selection, manufacturing processes, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.\n\nQualifications We Prefer\nStrong collaboration skills; ability to work effectively with minimal conflict and within schedule constraints.\n\nExperience in design, fabrication, and integration of military mobile shelters, trailers, and equipment packaging.\n\nSelf-driven leadership style with adaptability across varying assignments.\n\nWorking knowledge of military and commercial specifications.\n\nExperience in electronics packaging design and integration.\n\nExperience with Risk & Opportunity Management.\n\nAdvanced problem-solving skills, including reliability/failure analysis and development of technical white papers.\n\nEngineering project management experience, including EVMS/EAC oversight and proposal leadership.\n\nExperience with hardware design for Patriot, LTAMDS and NASAMS Air Defense Systems\n\nWhat We Offer\nOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
