The ET organization provides testing capability for every phase of the product life cycle from prototype to production. Environmental testing includes mechanical shock, electrodynamic vibration, salt fog, climatic environments such as temperature, altitude, and humidity, high temperature quartz lamp testing, structural testing, test fixture design, and custom instrumentation installations and data acquisition support.\nEnvironmental Test is seeking a Section Leader Test Engineer with experience in the field of vibration testing and/or structural load testing for product development. The Section Leader will be responsible for overseeing and managing a group of 10-15 engineers who perform complex environmental testing. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring Environmental Test is meeting the needs of its internal customers through development of its people, processes, and facility. The candidate will be responsible for accurate planning and forecasting of Environmental Test’s resources and assets. In this capacity, the candidate needs to possess an extensive knowledge of instrumentation and data acquisition systems, environmental test methodologies, structural testing design and implementation, quartz lamp high heat thermal testing, and fixture design principles. The candidate will report to the department manager and will work in a Multi-Program Closed Area. This position is an onsite role located in Tucson, AZ.\nWhat You Will Do\nLead a work group of 10-15 engineers and support personnel\nDevelop and mentor engineers and technicians in the field of Environmental Test\nConsult and provide testing guidance to internal program customers and verify their proposed testing will meet the intended requirements.\nWrite test plans and procedures that meet the requirements and safety of testing requested by internal program customers as well as review plans and procedures written by others. Also create schedules and budgets for all testing.\nOversee and personally conduct environmental testing to validate models for the purposes of new product qualification, production acceptance, flight test clearance, engineering evaluations, and failure investigations.\nImplement engineering best practices to ensure testing is performed accurately, on schedule, and within allowed budget.\nAnalyze test data real time and posttest to validate requirements have been met in accordance with requirements.\nQualifications You Must Have\nRequires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of prior relevant experience \nExperience working in a product development lab with vibration shaker systems and/or with instrumentation (accelerometers, thermocouples, strain gages, load cells, etc…) and data acquisition systems (Dewetron, DeweSoft, LabView, Agilent/Keysight, Benchlink, Somat, etc…)\n\nQualifications We Prefer\nAn active and transferable DoD Secret or TS/SSBI clearance.\nAn advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.\nStrong communication and leadership skills including effective written, verbal, and listening.\nExperience developing and evaluating requirements and being able to evaluate test issues and define solutions\nHigh situational awareness and ability to effectively work multiple projects simultaneously.\nWhat We Offer\nOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
