The position will be located within a new bespoke facility in Wolverhampton.\nReporting to the ASG-UK Site Lead - Chief Engineer, you will be working as part of a team of technical innovators will provide technical leadership and design authority for the development of electric actuation systems and associated subsystems, supporting programmes from concept through to production and in-service support.\nWhat You Will Do\nAs a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of electric actuation systems and associated subsystems, supporting projects from concept through to manufacture and qualification.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nGenerating innovative design concepts and product configurations for electro-mechanical actuation systems\nSupporting all stages of the design lifecycle, from requirements capture and proposals through detailed design, manufacture, and qualification\nDeveloping robust, lightweight, and cost-effective engineering solutions\nProducing high-quality manufacturing data packages, including drawings and tolerance analyses\nLeading and supporting detailed design activities within multidisciplinary engineering teams\nEnsuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and in-service requirements\nSupporting system integration and installation activities across actuation systems and interfacing equipment\nConducting design reviews and delivering technical presentations to internal and external stakeholders\nSupporting risk identification, risk mitigation, and design assurance activities\nInvestigating product issues during development, qualification, production, and in-service operation\nSupporting failure investigations and corrective action programmes\nProviding technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers, graduates, and placement students\nSupporting technology roadmap development and future capability growth initiatives\nCollaborating with global engineering teams to share best practices and drive continuous improvement\nSupporting customer engagement activities and new business opportunities\nThe role will be based in a new Collins Aerospace facility in Wolverhampton, UK, with What You Must Have\nDegree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering qualification\nDemonstrated experience in a design engineering environment\nStrong understanding of machine design and electro-mechanical product development\nExperience developing mechanical or electro-mechanical systems throughout the product lifecycle\nProven problem-solving and analytical skills\nExperience supporting technical investigations and root cause analysis activities\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams\nStrong organisational and planning skills with attention to detail\nPassion for engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous development\nDesirable Experience\nExperience using CATIA CAD software\nExperience using Teamcenter PLM systems\nAerospace product development experience\nExperience supporting qualification and certification programmes\nKnowledge of aerospace actuation systems and aircraft equipment design\nWhat We Offer\nPeople are core to what we do.
