The Mechanical team uses state-of-the-art tools, processes, technology, and Raytheon’s CORE principles. Mechanical capabilities encompass a broad range of technical disciplines which include engineering, manufacturing, technical services, materials, processes, analysis, test, and documentation.\nThe Radar Mechanical Design Department leads mechanical design, development, and integration of some of the most innovative land-based and shipboard radars in the world. This includes phased array radar systems, electronic modules, pedestals, and power and cooling systems. The department comprises individuals with technical expertise and experience in hardware design, integration, and production support. We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Design Engineer, with a focus of advanced 3D modeling, to support our radar development programs. You will conceptualize, design, integrate, and document mechanical-focused hardware using computer-aided design, mechanical analyses, and consistent coordination and communication across teams to ensure successful hardware performance.\nThis role will be based in Marlborough, MA or Tewksbury, MA and is an on-site role.\nWhat You Will Do\nWork with engineers across the business to propose, design, develop, integrate, and document detailed designs of large assemblies and sub-assemblies within the mechanical design department using CREO.\nCommunicate with engineering team members and suppliers to design, model, and document the design technical data package (TDP) and its capabilities and compliance with configuration and drafting requirements.\nSupport development, evaluation, and analysis of mechanical designs.\nDrawing generation, drawing release, and drawing change incorporation\nHolding design reviews and resolving action items\nOverseeing reworks and/or modification procedures\nSupporting the production floor on a regular basis, collecting issues, providing status and participating in problem resolution.\nUtilize CREO CAD tool for modeling and documentation creation.\nLarge Assembly Management and BOM Management\nQualifications You Must Have\nTypically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience.\nExperience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools, CREO with advanced modeling and drawing experience.\nExperience with any Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), tolerance analyses, drawing practices and interpretation (ASME Y-14.5) for mechanical hardware. \nQualifications We Prefer\nExperience in CREO Parametric, CREO View and Model Based Definition (MBD).\nExperience in PDM/Windchill.\nExperience in multiple CAD Design Tools - SolidWorks/CREO/AutoCAD/CATIA.\nSolid understanding of configuration management practices.\nExperience military/aerospace specifications and/or industry design standards.\nHigh technical aptitude and attention to detail.\nExcellent communications and interpersonal skills when working with team members.\nWhat We Offer\nOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
