In this role, you will support mechanical design execution, cross-functional engineering activities, technical problem-solving, and delivery of engineering commitments. You will collaborate with Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT), Integrated Program Management Team (IPMT), System Integrated Product Team (SIPT), Chief Engineers, customers, operations, quality, supply chain, and suppliers to resolve technical challenges, manage design risks, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions.\nWork Schedule: Alternate Work Week (AWW) - Friday-Sunday, 6:00 AM-6:00 PM.\nWhat You Will Do:\nExecute mechanical design activities and medium-scale engineering projects, coordinating cross-functional tasks to meet scope, schedule, budget, and technical requirements.\nPerform mechanical design analyses to ensure hardware meets form, fit, and function requirements; evaluate product improvements and support Class II Engineering Changes.\nCollaborate with engineering, operations, quality, supply chain, and suppliers to resolve manufacturing, assembly, engine build, teardown, and MRO-related technical issues.\nParticipate in design reviews, trade studies, and technical problem-solving activities while communicating program status, technical risks, and recommendations to engineering leadership.\nSupport continuous improvement through standard work, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), and data-driven engineering practices, while providing technical guidance to less-experienced engineers.\nTravel Requirement: 10% (Domestic, International).\nWhat You Will Learn:\nGain experience supporting ESTO engineering activities within a global aerospace organization.\nDevelop technical expertise in mechanical design, gas turbine hardware, solid modeling, and engineering analysis.\nGain exposure to engine builds, teardowns, Engine Centers, and MRO operations.\nBuild cross-functional leadership skills through collaboration with engineering, operations, quality, supply chain, suppliers, and customers.\nDevelop skills in technical risk management, design reviews, trade studies, RCCA, and continuous improvement.\nQualifications You Must Have:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5 years of relevant design experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant design experience. Relevant experience in mechanical design engineering within aerospace, gas turbine, manufacturing, or a related engineering environment performing mechanical design analysis and evaluating form, fit, and function requirements.\nQualifications We Prefer:\nExperience with gas turbine engine hardware, mechanical systems, or aerospace propulsion components.\nSkilled with 3D solid modeling and mechanical engineering analysis tools.\nExperience with Class II Engineering Changes, RCCA, design reviews, trade studies, engine builds/teardowns, or MRO activities.\nCollaborate with IPTs, CIPTs, IPMTs, SIPTs, Chief Engineers, customers, suppliers, operations, and quality organizations.\nProvide technical guidance to less-experienced engineers and contribute to process improvement and standard work.\nWhat We Offer:\nEligible for Relocation.\nLearn More & Apply Now!\nDepartment/Segment Overview:\nEngineering Support to Operations (ESTO): The ESTO department provides dedicated support by eliminating quality notifications, escapes, works stops and enabling producibility and delivery of legacy and new parts, assemblies, modules, and engines. ESTO covers all engine programs and part families, enabling engine deliveries, first piece reviews, first article inspections, analysis automation, process certification. ESTO also supports the Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) initiative in Operations.
