Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.\nWhat You Will Do\nThis Repair Design Engineer (RDE) position is with the Aftermarket & Sustainment Engineering (ASE) Military Repairs group. The RDE is responsible for the development of repairs and tooling for military engines program but is not limited to; development and qualification for the tooling required to execute repairs, support repair source qualifications, facilitating government approval, have direct interaction with government resources and coordination with the various repair sources.\nParticipate in a multi-discipline team to establish repair design requirements and ensure repairs are safe, durable, and meet latest repair procedures and quality requirements.\nResearch and quickly understand operating environments and functionality of components, their interactions with mating parts, and develop strategies which will return damaged parts back to service.\nCreate technical documentation that provide engineering requirements and substantiation on repairs procedures.\nInterface with the technical and program management to secure priorities and understand programmatic issues.\nSupport audits at suppliers and overhaul depots (MRO).\nSupport customer (USAF) in the resolution of field supportability issues.\nProvide input as required to other departments in the developing of a design repair, tasks or assignments.\nCommunicate with department leadership and management on status and risks to program schedule, budget and metrics (cost, weight, performance, etc.).\nBe a lead in utilizing standard work procedures and CORE tools to promote continuous improvement efforts on processes/methods during the part life cycle.\nDevelop and sustain a healthy work relationship based on mutual trust with peers, internal and external customers where significant interaction is expected.\nTravel is up to 10%.\nEnglish (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.\nQualifications You Must Have\nBachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering\n5 years of engineering experience or an Advanced degree with 3 years of engineering experience\nU.S. Citizen - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.\nQualifications We Prefer\nExperience with NX and ANSYS\nExperience in Teamcenter or other PLM systems\nExposure to cost and schedule management or team leadership\nPrior aerospace or related field job experience\nExperience collaborating with defense industry, airframers or airliners resolving technical issues\nUnderstand technical processes and design requirements of multiple gas turbine hardware (internal, external, static, or rotating hardware)\nExperience with manufacturing processes such as machining, plating, plasma spray, welding or brazing is also desired\nExperience leading teams, schedule creation and ability to manage numerous projects\nParticipate in CORE efforts\nFamiliarized with AS9100 or other Quality Management System standards\nWhat We Offer:\nEmployee Scholar Program\nLearn More & Apply Now!\nAftermarket and Sustainment Engineering executes both military and commercial repair design and repairs substantiations for engines.
