The role requires a multi-skilled engineer to develop and drive innovation within manufacturing and wider functions from early customer engagement, through development to set-up and volume manufacture. The Industrial Engineer will provide technical, business and project management support for a variety of products or projects.\nWhat you'll be doing:\nDevelop innovative solutions for new products or processes plus contribute to strategic roadmaps focused on factory capacity and investments through infrastructure improvement and expansion proposals, and planning the integration of new products, technologies, and equipment that create a competitive advantage.\n\nSupport the development of new projects, technologies or businesses opportunities.\n\nAnalyse manufacturing system performance to evaluate and identify opportunities for improvement through Industrial Engineering tools, techniques and methods.\n\nAnalyse and determine equipment, facilities and support requirements for new products, equipment or processes.\n\nProvide detailed factory and line layouts using AutoCAD plus support the planning, costing and implementation of new or changed area.\n\nOptimisation of assembly lines using workflow analysis, time and motion study, ergonomics and human factors analysis.\n\nProvide detailed technical reports, presentations and information to support projects.\n\nProvide analysis of current or future requirements using simulation tools, value stream mapping, data analysis, PFMEA, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles etc.\n\nCollaborate with engineering and design groups to ensure producibility of product and effective transition to manufacture.\n\nLabour estimating for electronic, cable or mechanical assemblies.\n\nContribute to factory safety and work cell ergonomics.\n\nCandidate Requirements:\nEssential:\nDegree in an engineering science e.g. Industrial Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience\n\nPC literate mainly Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & MS Project.\n\nProficient in the use of AutoCAD and/or simulation modelling tools.\n\nAbility to work with mathematical concepts and statistical analysis, SPC, modelling, queuing theory, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, etc.\n\nAbility to represent Raytheon at all levels for internal and external customers.\n\nStrong understanding of the key cost drivers in the set-up, development or support of projects, products and the manufacturing process.\n\nDesirable:\nSignificant Industrial Engineering experience and extensive knowledge of Industrial Engineering tools, techniques and methods.\n\nExperience of developing new process, areas or expansion including planning, costing and implementation.\n\nAbility to create detailed information quickly and present effectively at customer or various management levels.\n\nKnowledge of SMT, unit and box build assembly processes plus site facilitation, supply chain requirements and material handling.\n\nAbility to mentor or lead other engineers or projects with extensive Industrial Engineering knowledge.\n\nKnowledge of simulation tools such as Witness or similar.\n\nWhat we offer:\nCompetitive salaries.\n\n25 days holiday + statutory public holidays, plus opportunity to buy and sell up to 5 days (37hr)\n\nContributory Pension Scheme (up to 10.5% company contribution)\n\nCompany bonus scheme (discretionary).\n\n6 times salary ‘Life Assurance’ with pension.\n\nFlexible Benefits scheme with extensive salary sacrifice schemes, including Health Cashplan, Dental, and Cycle to Work amongst others.\n\nEnhanced sick pay.\n\nEnhanced family friendly policies including enhanced maternity, paternity & shared parental leave\n\nWork Culture:\n37hr working week, although hours may vary depending on role, job requirement or site-specific arrangements.\n\nRemote, hybrid and site based working opportunities, dependant on your needs and the requirements of the role.\n\nA grownup flexible working culture that is output, not time spent at desk, focussed.
