Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.\nWhat You Will Do\nThe Airborne Radar Mechanical Design Department is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for the Receiver & Electronic Packaging Section in El Segundo, CA.\nThe person in this position will be involved in electronics packaging design for Airborne Radar Subsystems including Antenna, Receiver, Exciter, Processor and Power Supply subsystems. Tasks will include:\n Mechanical engineering throughout the hardware life cycle, including concept development, preliminary and detail design, transition to production, production support and installation. \nDesigns will be for tactical airborne defense environment-based sensor systems including ground¬ based, shipboard, airborne, and space sensors. \nTypical technologies include high density printed wiring board assemblies, electronic enclosures, thermal heat exchangers, machined components, RF microwave assemblies, and power converter units, all with\n Challenging design constraints including Size, Weight, Power, and design to Cost.\nWhat You Will Learn\nDesign and release mechanical parts and systems for Receiver & Electronic Packaging and other sub-systems. \nProvide engineering support to internal operations and external suppliers. \nCreate 3-D models, 2-D detail drawings, and Change Notices. \nSupport creation of Design Specification and Acceptance Requirement documents.\nQualifications You Must Have\nTypically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree or a minimum of 5 years’ prior relevant experience, to include any combination of the following: \n Experience with completing detailed layouts and design documentation using Computer Aided Design tools\nExperience with providing support to suppliers who are fabricating the unit components and assemblies.\nThe ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
