Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.\nWe are seeking a professional Senior Power Design Engineer to assume a key role within the System Power, Analog and Controls Department. \nDo you enjoy power converter design? \nDo early-career engineers come to you for technical guidance? \nDo you have a strong desire to work on projects that are critical to the defense of our nation? \nIf your answers are yes, we are looking for you to join our team!\n What You Will Do\nDesign, analyze (including thermal considerations), simulate, and test power conversion circuitry potentially utilizing any standard non-isolated power conversion topologies (buck, boost, buck-boost) including modules and discrete designs. \nGuide Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation. \nPerform design work within the bounds of a given schedule. \nPresent reviews of technical data to program leadership and technical staff. \n Qualifications You Must Have\nTypically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience\nMinimum of 5 years of professional experience in design, analysis, simulation, and/or test experience with linear converters. \nExperience with any of the following non-isolated converter topologies: buck, boost, buck-boost. \nExperience with design, analysis, and test with analog electronic design and analysis, including FET, BJT, and/or Op-amp circuits. \nQualifications We Prefer\nLab experience specific to power electronics and/or controls electronics \nDemonstrated use of software tools for electrical circuit simulation and/or printed circuit board layout \nDemonstrated ability to document designs and circuit performance verification \nDemonstrated experience with fundamental power conversion concepts, components, and techniques \nDemonstrated understanding of linear controls and motor drive techniques. \nBasic understanding of commonly used power converter and/or motor drive control schemes \nDesign, analysis, and/or test experience with any of the following isolated converter topologies: flyback, half-bridge, full-bridge, and/or push-pull. Design scope will ideally include stability. \nExperience with performing circuit card assembly-level power architecture trades, and/or with system-level power architecture trades, including power converter specification development experience. \nProfessional experience guiding Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation (direct experience with such tools is adequate to fulfill this requirement). \nFamiliarity with circuit simulator SIMPLIS, Saber and/or analysis tool Mathcad. \nExperience with Mentor Graphics DxDesigner, and/or Hyperlynx. \nExperience with acting as a liaison between program and functional management. \nExperience with digital power control. \nExperience with military specifications. \nExperience with transformer and inductor design considerations. \nDesign experience with Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) concerns. \nDesign experience with voltages > 400V and/or power > 10kW. \nExperience with program management tools such as Earned Value. \nExperience with proposal development. \nAbility to design to meet concerns of adjacent disciplines, such as thermal, structural, mechanical, reliability, and quality. \nAbility to be a self-starter and be able to function in a dynamic environment. \nStrong interpersonal, leadership, communication, and time management skills. \nWhat We Offer\nOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
