Raytheon’s Radar Digital Product Line (RDPL) team in Fullerton, California, is growing! We are seeking a motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology solutions, grow your expertise in the radar domain, and engage in potential travel to support radar site operations. This position offers a dynamic and collaborative environment where you can make a meaningful impact.
This role will be 100% on-site in Fullerton, California.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with Scrum teams to design, develop, and maintain embedded C++ DSP software for tactical radar systems across high-performance CPU and GPU platforms.
- Translate complex radar system requirements and mathematical models into robust, real-time software within embedded Linux environments.
- Execute Software Integration Testing (SWIT), troubleshoot hard-to-reproduce defects using Jenkins logs and debugging tools, and drive root-cause analysis.
- Develop automation scripts (Python, Bash, or Perl) for testing pipelines, log analysis, and system integration tasks.
- Mentor junior engineers and guide technical planning, code reviews, and architectural decisions.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, focused on real-time Digital Signal Processing (DSP) for radar or similar RF domains.
- Proficiency in C++ and Object-Oriented Design (OOD).
- Deep understanding of radar signal processing theory, math, and numerical libraries (e.g., I/Q data, filtering, FFTs, MKL, CUDA).
- Experience with Linux development environments, DevSecOps tools (Jenkins, Jira, Git), and scripting (Python, Perl, or Bash) for automation.
- Self-motivated problem solver with proven success debugging complex software issues.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Technical leadership experience with software development teams.
- Advanced knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and system software design.
- Experience with MATLAB for data analysis and test run visualization.
- Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Podman) for build and test environments.
- Demonstrated desire to explore new technologies and grow into a Software Architect role.

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
