This role is responsible for supervising training delivery, overseeing onboarding and workforce development initiatives, and driving continuous improvement of training systems and processes to ensure consistency, compliance, and operational effectiveness. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Human Resources, and Health & Safety teams to ensure workforce competency, readiness, and ongoing skills development.\nKey Responsibilities\nTraining Leadership & Delivery\nLead, coordinate, and oversee training programs in areas including health and safety, precision mechanical assembly, manufacturing procedures, engineering drawing and blueprint interpretation, and other technical skills. Provide guidance and support to trainers and employees to ensure effective learning outcomes across varying skill levels. Monitor training effectiveness and implement improvements to maximize employee performance and engagement.\nTraining Operations & Process Improvement\nEvaluate and improve training systems, workflows, and procedures to ensure consistency and standardization across all training activities. Maintain training documentation, records, certifications, and compliance requirements in accordance with company, industry, and regulatory standards. Develop, update, and standardize training materials including presentations, work instructions, job aids, assessments, and onboarding resources as required.\nProgram Development & Workforce Readiness\nPartner with department leaders and subject matter experts to identify operational skill gaps and develop training strategies that support production goals and workforce capability. Ensure training content remains current with changes in equipment, manufacturing processes, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Support succession planning and cross-training initiatives to strengthen workforce flexibility and readiness.\nTeam Supervision & Coordination\nSupervise day-to-day training activities, schedules, and onboarding programs to ensure employees complete required training within established timelines. Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to trainers and trainees as needed. Track employee training progress, qualifications, and certifications to maintain compliance and support operational planning.\nQualifications\nRequired\nPost-secondary education in Adult Education, Technical Training, Human Resources, Manufacturing, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience\n3-5 years of experience in training, workforce development, or technical instruction within a manufacturing environment\nPrevious experience leading, mentoring, or supervising training activities or teams\nStrong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences\nProficiency with learning management systems (LMS) and Microsoft Office Suite\nExcellent organizational, leadership, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment\nPreferred\nExperience with aerospace or defense industry quality standards (AS9100, NADCAP)\nTechnical knowledge in areas such as blueprint reading, soldering, optics handling, or precision assembly\nCertification in training delivery, instructional design, adult learning, or leadership development\nFamiliarity with quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies (AS9100, ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing)\nExperience developing onboarding, cross-training, and workforce competency programs\n\nThe salary range for this role is 78,000 CAD - 122,850 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
