This role is ideally suited to an engineer with a background in the defence sector, particularly within training systems or training development.\nThe role requires a flexible and adaptable approach, with responsibilities varying across different areas of the programme. At times, you will work within a matrix team to develop procurement strategies, refine requirements for training devices, and support their progression through the procurement lifecycle. At other times, you will act as Raytheon's representative, overseeing and coordinating the activities of subcontractors responsible for the detailed design, development, and delivery of training devices.\nSuccess in this role will require strong stakeholder management, effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, and the ability to balance technical oversight with project delivery objectives.\nPrimarily home-based but must be prepared to travel to support internal and customer meetings and duties.\nYou must either currently hold or be eligible and willing to gain BPSS and SC clearance.\nResponsibilities\nWorking with the Solution Architect to define work packages and technical requirements. \nIndividually contribute to the execution and delivery of key work packages. \nUndertaking activities associated with product specification and qualification. \nCollaborate with cross functional teams to assist in the procurement and implementation of advanced training devices; the wider team includes specialists in requirements, test and acceptance, system architecture and supportability. \nContributes to problem resolution at a team level. \nContributes to and helps improve planned system operation. \nCreate and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes and procedures \nBe ‘Responsible for championing and fostering a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement’. \nAny other duties required to meet the needs of the programme. \nRequired Skills & Experience\nA relevant degree or equivalent training. \nStrong experience in systems engineering, ideally on all elements of the V-model. \nExperience with systems engineering technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. \nExperience writing scopes of work and acceptance criteria. \nKnowledge of the development of Systems of Systems. \nAbility to work in a collaborative, multi-discipline environment to solve problems. \nHands-on experience with configuration management tools \nAbility to travel up to 25% of the time with a valid driving licence. \nDesirable Skills & Experience\nExperience with Atlassian suite, working with Jira and Confluence \nExperience of working in an Agile/SCRUM/DevOps delivery model. \nAwareness of NAFv4 and/or TOGAF. \nExperience of training devices. \nBenefits and Work Culture\n37hr working week with early finish Fridays!\n25 days holiday + statutory public holidays, increasing with service, plus opportunity to buy, sell and roll over up to 5 days and up to 5 paid days volunteering\n10.5% company pension contribution with 6% employee contribution\nAnnual company bonus scheme (discretionary)\n6 times salary Life Assurance with pension\nFlexible Benefits scheme with extensive salary sacrifice schemes, including Health Cashplan, Dental, and Cycle to Work, amongst others\nEnhanced sick pay\nEnhanced family friendly policies including enhanced maternity, paternity & shared parental leave\nRaytheon UK\nWe take immense pride in being a leader in defence and aerospace technology.
