The successful candidate will have access to a range of professional development opportunities and will play an important role in the continued growth and success of Raytheon UK's engineering capability.\nThe role is based at Raytheon's Harlow facility and reports directly to the Head of Engineering for the ATMS Business.\nResponsibilities\nManaging the ATMS Software Engineering team across programmes, product developments and R&D activities.\nProviding leadership, coaching, mentoring, and career development for software engineers.\nLeading preparation of technical proposals, software estimates, and technical responses to bids.\nLeading software architecture, design and development activities with internal and external partners.\nDriving Agile delivery, DevSecOps principles and CI/CD practices.\nEstablishing software engineering standards, governance, and metrics.\nLeading software integration, verification, validation, and release activities.\nCollaborating with Systems Engineering, Test & Integration, Product Management and Cyber Security teams.\nManaging software quality, maintainability, technical debt and technical risk.\nSupporting software assurance, certification and accreditation activities.\nDefining software capability aspects of the ATMS technology and product roadmaps.\nSupporting recruitment, succession planning and capability development.\nCandidate Requirements\nEssential\nDegree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering or related discipline.\nExperience managing software engineering teams across the product development lifecycle.\nExperience leading engineering teams within programme environments and supporting technical proposal activities.\nExperience developing software engineering capability, processes, tools and best practices.\nExperience in line management of functional teams.\nExperience delivering complex software systems within regulated, safety-critical or mission-critical environments.\nExperience with software architecture, SDLC management and engineering governance.\nExperience with software methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall) and modern DevSecOps practices.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nOutstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.\nEligible for UK MOD Security Clearance (SC minimum).\nDesirable\nExperience within Air Traffic Management, Air Traffic Control, Aerospace, or Defence.\nRadar domain knowledge and/or experience.\nExperience in modelling and simulation.\nPractical experience of MBSE implementation.\nKnowledge of certification processes across the product lifecycle.\nExperience delivering distributed, real-time or mission-critical software systems.\nKnowledge of software assurance, safety engineering, and cyber security frameworks.\nExperience implementing CI/CD, automated testing and software quality practices.\nRTX adheres to the principles of equal employment.
