From concept development to deployment and beyond, the team works to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and implement solutions to enhance product safety and reliability for our warfighters.\nThis is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Software / System Safety EngineerII to join an innovative team in Tucson, AZ.\nWhat You Will Do\nAs a Software / System Safety Engineer II, your responsibilities will include:\nParticipating in the execution of the Software System Safety Program.\nPerforming MIL-STD-882 System Safety Program tasks and analyses involving management (task series 100), analysis (task series 200), evaluation (task series 300), and verification (task series 400).\nExecuting the safety strategy for the program to meet all milestones with system safety and HSI features integrated into the product.\nAnalyzing engineering software in accordance with MIL-STD-882E, JSSSEH, and other relevant standards.\nWorking with software development teams to review and analyze software code.\nAssisting with software analyses and interfacing with various stakeholders, including customers, program offices, subcontractors, and vendors.\nCollaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through deployment to gain concurrence with software builds.\nAssisting with the preparation of Safety Assessment Reports, as well as other safety analyses and Safety Program Briefs.\nAssisting with software safety technical reviews.\nInterpreting system requirements, customer specifications, and military standards.\nCollaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a comprehensive understanding of product architecture and design.\nEngaging the Lead System Safety Engineer and Portfolio Engineering Lead for guidance on technical execution, artifact review, and customer reviews.\nSupporting multi-IPT program meetings to ensure that system safety items are considered and to understand current program-wide issues.\nEnsuring program leadership understands system safety requirements, hazards, and planned mitigations.\nQualifications You Must Have\nTypically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.\nExperience with risk assessment concepts, such as those included in MIL-STD-882E.\nExperience writing technical reports and presentations.\nQualifications We Prefer\nActive/Existing DoD clearance.\nExperience preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to a System Safety program.\nExperience reviewing software code and requirements.\nExperience collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines.\nExperience interfacing with Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Hardware Engineering.\nExperience managing working groups.\nWhat We Offer\nOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
