Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.\nWhat You Will Do\nThe F135 Fan design team is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineering professional to support critical engineering tasks across the design cycle. This role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to enhance product performance, optimize design processes, and ensure customer satisfaction.\nProvide design support across all phases of the design cycle, including preliminary design, detailed design, validation, manufacturing, and operational service.\nWork on the design of components within the fan module, such as cases, frames, IBRs (Integrally Bladed Rotors), bypass ducts, and kinematics.\nSupport the installed F135 fleet by optimizing components and enhancing commonality to meet current and future business and customer needs.\nExpand repairability and maintainability for military customers and MRO facilities, while supporting test and verification of field issues.\nDevelop and implement common procedures and standard work to improve efficiency and quality across the organization.\nCreate and review layouts of components, calculate stack-up of detail components, and perform cost studies to ensure objectives and budgets are met.\nResolve design problems of difficult-to-complex scope to ensure project completion while maintaining clarity, accuracy, and adherence to standards.\nCollaborate with engineering personnel to coordinate interrelated designs and ensure project completion.\nProvide technical leadership on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and assist in training less experienced engineers to build capabilities.\nQualifications You Must Have\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years of Mechanical Design Engineering experience, OR\nAdvanced degree with 3+ years of experience \nExperience with hardware, reading blueprints, and manufacturing methods.\nThe ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.\nU.S. citizenship is required, asonly U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.\nQualifications We Prefer\nMaster’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.\nExperience with engineering standard work and the Class I and II Engineering Change process.\nExperience using fault tree investigation tools.\nProficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and/or classical methods of analysis.\nProficiency in Teamcenter and NX software.\nActive U.S. government security clearance.\nWhat We Offer\nRelocation Eligibility\nLearn More & Apply Now!\nCompression Systems Engineering (CSE)\nCompression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.\nTechnical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.\nPlease ensure the role type (defined below) is appropriate for your needs before applying to this role.\nOnsite roles will work primarily onsite.
