Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.\nWhat You Will Do\nPratt & Whitney’s Mechanical Systems, Externals, and Nacelles (MSEN) engineering module is seeking a highly motivated Structures Engineer to join our team.\nPerform structural analysis for Externals and Mechanical Systems hardware throughout preliminary design, detailed design, validation, certification, and support for manufacturing and operational service.\n\nServe as the structural representative on multi-disciplinary integrated product teams, providing balanced design solutions that meet customer requirements for durability, performance, cost, and weight.\n\nSupport validation test activities (engine and rig), including live monitoring of instrumentation relative to limits, post-processing of test data, and evaluation against program requirements.\n\nAssist with in-service field investigations.\n\nConduct Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS, Workbench, and Teamcenter, while applying classical methods for strength, stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue life, and damage tolerance.\n\nContribute to technology development and continuous improvement of engineering standard work processes and methods.\n\nDocument analysis results and present findings to management and external customers.\n\nThis role requires the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, combining onsite and remote workdays.\n\nTravel is up to 10%\n\nEnglish (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.\n\nQualifications You Must Have\nBachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering\n\n2 years of engineering experience, or an advanced degree in Engineering with a GPA of 3.0 or higher\n\nU.S. Citizen - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.\n\nQualifications We Prefer\nKnowledge on Externals and/or Mechanical Systems engine components\n\nM.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering\n\nProficiency in Teamcenter, Ansys, and classical methods of analysis\n\nTheoretical to advance knowledge on Structural engineering through degree and experience\n\nWhat We Offer:\nEmployee Scholar Program\n\nLearn More & Apply Now!\nMechanical Systems, Externals, and Nacelles Engineering is responsible for the design, development and in service support of power transmission systems, bearing compartment and rotor support design and analysis, oil and thermal management systems, engine externals packaging and architecture, as well as nacelles for commercial and military engine models.\n\nWhat Is My Role Type: In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work.
