Discover opportunities to make a difference at RTX.\nWhat You Will Do\nImmerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January- July/August (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).\nAs a Structural Engineering Co-op at Collins Aerospace, you will join our Collins Landing Gear Stress Department as a Co-Op and gain hands-on experience in structural engineering. You will work closely with experienced engineers to evaluate landing gear components and their ability to withstand aircraft operating loading conditions. This is an opportunity to apply your engineering knowledge while contributing to real-world projects. Key responsibilities include:\nPerform static and fatigue stress analysis using classical techniques.\nConduct static and fatigue stress analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) based techniques.\nAssist engineers with evaluations of non-conforming parts.\nUpdate stress analyses to reflect current configurations.\nWrite and compile stress analysis reports.\nCollaborate with the team to ensure compliance with engineering standards and project requirements.\nQualifications You Must Have\nMust be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.\nMust have a minimum of 60 hours of credits by the start of the internship / co-op session\nExperience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.\nQualifications We Prefer\nCompleted engineering coursework in Statics, Dynamics, and/or Mechanics of Materials\nExperience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and/or PowerPoint)\nExperience with FEA software such as ANSYS or Abaqus\nExperience with drawing software such as CATIA V5\n\nWhat We Offer\nOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
