With a real blended approach to learning and using the latest innovative systems and technology, we ensure our service men and women really are prepared for any situation.\nRole & Responsibilities\nThe Marine Engineering Submarine Modelling and Simulation (MESM-SM) engineer is responsible for gathering the technical data to support the simulation and modelling teams work development programme. The MESM-SM will have suitable Knowledge, Skills and Behaviour and will understand the technical data required, the sources of that data and how to access that data.\nThe MESM-SM will work with the software and systems engineering teams to identify technical data requirements for the development of Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) simulations.\nHaving identified the data requirements, the Requirements Team SME will work with the software and systems engineering teams to ensure that models, algorithms, simulations and emulations are representative of real world systems to the level of fidelity required for a particular task.\nResponsibilities\nWork as a member of the wider team responsible for the analysis, design, maintenance, review and production of DSAT Documentation & processes for our Customer’s training sites and organisations.\nInterviewing subject matter experts to collate required data, participate in internal workshops to discuss and agree findings from analysis.\nWork with the customer and the customer’s agents and suppliers to identify technical data required for courseware and media development and also external routes to obtain the data.\nWork with the systems engineering team to identify required levels of fidelity, accuracy and responsiveness and document this for the software engineering & modelling teams to implement.\nConfigure operational parameters of simulators and emulators during development and testing phases.\nIdentify where training methods and media currently in use in the Customer may be exploited to better develop and deliver the Programme’s courseware.\nBe ‘Responsible for championing and fostering a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement’.\nAny other duties required to complete the Simulation and Modelling function within the engineering dept.\nRequired experience\nProven at sea experience as a Cat A or Cat B Nuclear watchkeeper.\nDesire to learn and apply best engineering practices with training/simulation environment\nDesirable experienc e\nElectrical Background.\nFwd ME duties.\nExperience of operating or configuring simulators for training purposes\nKnowledge of Agile development processes\nExperience of git-based version control systems.\nFamiliarity with creating and editing structured documents such as JSON or XML\nTraining requirements, design or delivery.\nMember of a Boat Build Crew\nDE&S/SDA.\nRTX adheres to the principles of equal employment.
