In this role, you will be responsible for creating, editing, and reviewing technical documentation and illustrations that support advanced simulated training systems. You will work closely with subject matter experts, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to established guidelines.\nResponsibilities:\nTransform complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and organized content that aligns with engineering department guidelines.\nCollaborate with subject matter experts and work from technical sources such as the Logistics Support Analysis Record (LSAR), engineering drawings, schematics, and documentation to develop user-friendly technical manuals and other documentation.\nAuthor and manage Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) and their associated Common Source Database (CSDB) Data Modules.\nDevelop high-quality illustrations and photographs to accompany written content, ensuring alignment with Technical Documentation department standards.\nApply and validate technical publications against S1000D Business Rules.\nPrepare and deliver customer documentation, including printed and electronic formats, and archive materials as required.\nOrganize and index third-party manufacturer documentation to ensure accessibility and usability.\nProvide support to the training department as needed.\nTrack and report the status of project technical documentation to ensure timeline adherence.\nParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance documentation processes and outputs.\nRequirements:\nPost-secondary education in a technical field, English, Technical Writing, or Communications.\nA minimum of 3 years of experience in producing technical publications, ideally in an aviation/aerospace environment.\nStrong understanding of XML Structured Data, XML Schemas, and experience working in an XML authoring environment.\nFamiliarity with S1000D Standards is an asset\nExperience with the EAGLE Publishing System is a plus.\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.\nProficiency in French (oral and written) and experience with English-French translation is an added advantage.\nExcellent experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).\nStrong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams.\nHighly self-motivated, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.\nBilingual in English and French is an asset.\nThe successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and obtain/maintain a Government of Canada security clearance and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods.\nThis position is eligible for consideration of a hybrid work arrangement with set onsite days.\nRTX offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical and dental coverage, disability benefits, a retirement savings program, and tuition assistance through RTX’s Employee Scholar Program.
