Automation is central to delivering these projects successfully and on time, and you will be a key part of making that happen. \nYou will write and maintain the automated tests that give us confidence in the integrations, order management, and backend services that power the experience for our 30M+ loyal Members. You’ll work closely with developers and grow your skills alongside an experienced QA team.\nKey Responsibilities:\nBuild and maintain automated API, contract, and integration tests for Retail Systems and SCAYLE integrations \nTest interdependent backend services and third-party platforms, including database validation \nContribute to and extend our test automation frameworks, treating test code with the same care as production code \nIntegrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and help keep suites healthy, reliable, and free of flaky tests \nPartner with developers and product managers to shape the backend test automation framework, test strategy, and plans within a context-driven Scrum, Agile, or Kanban team \nInfluence the building of software beforeit's built by reviewing requirements and acceptance criteria \nPrepare and share test documentation and results with the team \nHelp evolve our culture of excellence in test and find ways to insert quality into all aspects of the business \nExperience and Background Needed:\nComfort with Git and participating in code review \nThe ability to engage and discuss test strategies and plans with the development team \nThe drive to continuously engage developers and QA to keep pushing the framework forward while keeping feedback and needs in mind \nPride in ownership of quality and a willingness to act as the voice of the customer \nA collaborative spirit and eagerness to learn from, and share with, a cross-functional team \nFluency in English\nA Bachelors Degree or Higher. \n1-3+ years of experience in QA, test automation, or software development. \n Technical skills \nCoding ability in a language such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, or C# \nExperience writing automated tests and working within an existing test automation framework \nExperience testing API contracts \nExperience testing interdependent backend applications \nExperience working in relational databases and validating data with SQL \nAn understanding of web request/response models and the tools that use them \nFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and running automated tests within them \nExperience working in cloud-based environments \nKnowledge of test principles, the software testing lifecycle, and prioritization techniques \n\nNot required, but good to have experience with… \nAPI tools such as Postman, ReadyAPI, or Bruno \nOracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL \nCommand line environments such as Bash CLI, Windows Terminal, or PowerShell \nCI and job scheduling tools such as Jenkins or ActiveBatch \nTest frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, WebDriverIO, or Cucumber \nAPI-first, headless, or composable (MACH) commerce platforms such as SCAYLE \nAsync systems such as queues, streams, or webhooks \nAI-assisted development tools such as Claude or Gemini \nScrum, Agile, or Kanban teams \nTesting payment and/or tax systems \nTesting e-commerce and/or order management concepts \nAbout the Retail Systems Team \nRetail Systems builds and supports the backend systems that keep Rue La La and Gilt running behind the scenes, from order management, payments, and tax to the integrations that connect our platforms to SCAYLE and our partners.
