THE ROLE: Stylist--On Call (Studio, On-Model, & Still Life)

We’re looking for…

Join the Shepherdsville, Kentucky styling team behind Rue La La and Gilt, where every day brings a new mix of product to style: fashion on model one day, still life the next. As an On-Call Stylist, you'll work alongside photographers, art directors and fellow stylists in our Shepherdsville studio, creating the imagery shoppers see on every product page. Reporting to the Lead Stylist, you'll step in during our busiest production periods, making you a key part of keeping production running at full speed. Ideal for stylists who enjoy variety and a fast-paced studio.

What You’ll Do:

• On-model styling: Prep, steam, pin and clip fashion product on model for high-volume e-commerce, keeping the pace up without letting fit, accuracy or brand standards slip.
• E-commerce still life: Style scarves, soft goods, children's apparel, accessories and more for clean, consistent product imagery.
• Editorial still life: Build elevated sets for beauty, fashion, accessories and home, using props, composition and placement to bring the creative direction to life.
• Live adjustments: Review styling throughout each shoot, fine-tune fit and composition in real time and solve on-set challenges quickly.
• Collaboration: Partner with photographers, art directors and producers to interpret and execute the vision for each shoot.
• Consistency: Follow styling guides, PDP standards and shot lists so every image feels cohesive across both brands.
• Studio care: Keep tools, supplies, props and workspaces organized, clean and safe.

About You:

You're a versatile stylist who enjoys switching between on-model and still-life work. You're quick, detail-oriented and adaptable, and you take pride in making every product look its best.

• Professional styling experience in a high-volume production studio, ideally in fashion, accessories, home or e-commerce
• Hands-on experience with both on-model and still-life styling, including working directly with models
• Skilled in product prep and styling techniques, from steaming and pinning to prop sourcing and selection
• Understanding of digital photography workflows and the pace and quality expectations of a production studio
• Clear communicator and collaborative teammate who can take direction and offer smart solutions
• Flexible with last-minute bookings, shifting priorities and changing creative direction

Education

Background or education in fashion, art, design, merchandising, photography, or a related creative field preferred. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

Years of experience

4+ years of professional styling experience in a high-volume production studio, preferably with an emphasis on fashion, accessories, home, or e-commerce.

Demonstrated experience working with models and collaborating closely with photographers, art directors, and other production partners.

Technical skills

Strong knowledge of styling techniques, product preparation, prop selection, and on-set execution.

Experience sourcing, organizing, and working with props to support seasonal and brand-specific creative direction.

Strong understanding of digital photography workflows and the pace, quality standards, and efficiency expectations of a high-volume production studio.

Ability to interpret and consistently execute styling guides, PDP standards, shot lists, and creative direction.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with and provide direction to a wide variety of team members.

Ability to navigate ambiguity, solve complex production challenges, anticipate project needs, and proactively recommend solutions.

Flexibility to accommodate last-minute schedule additions, shifting priorities, and changes in creative direction.

Ability to work collaboratively toward production deadlines, daily capacity goals, and team efficiency.

Expected Salary Range: $25-$30/hr
