They bring our mission to life by deploying our robots and supporting customers hands-on to deliver a consistent, precise, and reliable layout. As a Robotic Operations Technician, your primary responsibility will be operating robots at customers’ job sites, dynamically blending technology, teamwork, and a solution-oriented mindset to have a direct impact on how projects get built.\nWhen not in the field, you’ll work from our Houston HQ in East Downtown, preparing for the next project while sharing insights from the field that inform our engineering roadmap and sales process.\nWhat You’ll Do\nTravel frequently ( up to 90%) across the United States to deploy and operate our robot on active construction sites\nUse a tablet to operate and monitor robotic systems\nTroubleshoot technical issues (mechanical, electrical, or software-related) on the spot\nCollaborate with the engineering team to report field insights and propose product improvements\nBecome an expert in our system to deliver accurate layouts to customers\nRepresent Rugged Robotics professionally and confidently while on-site with clients\nYou Are\nEnergized by extensive travel (up to 90%) and hands-on work with customers in the field\nAn effective communicator who builds trust with stakeholders both on-site and at HQ\nMotivated to deliver exceptional service that consistently exceeds customer expectations\nThrive on learning new technologies and expanding your knowledge of robotic systems across software, mechanical, and electrical disciplines\nProactive about improving tools, processes, and customer experiences through initiative and problem-solving\nRequirements\nAuthorized to work in the U.S.\nBased in (or willing to relocate to) Houston, TX\nHold a valid U.S. driver’s license\nWilling to frequently travel on domestic U.S. airlines (up to 90% of the time)\nAble to transport robots and equipment as needed\nComfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions on active construction sites\nCapable of navigating uneven ground, scaffolding, ladders, and stairs\nPrepared to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods\nPhysically capable of performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation\nGreat to Have\nStrong communication and customer service instincts\nExposure to mechanical design, assembly, scripting, or electrical wiring\nPrevious experience with robotics, automation, or complex machinery\nPast field experience in construction or other technical environments\nPrior exposure to mechanical design, assembly, software scripting (Python a plus), and electrical wiring\nPerks\nFull-time, Competitive Salary with equity\nMedical, Dental, and Vision Insurance\nFlexible Paid Vacation from day one\nPaid Parental Leave\nLife Insurance\n401k Plan available\nJoin Our Talent Community\nInterested in Rugged Robotics but don't tick all the boxes?
