This is an exciting opportunity to design and deliver secure, resilient, and high-performing network architectures that underpin essential public services.\nThis role offers flexible working alongside visits to regional offices and project sites across the UK.\nThe Opportunity\nAs a Network Architect, you will take ownership of the design and delivery of complex telecommunications and network solutions, supporting operational systems including:\nSecure LAN/WAN network infrastructure\nSCADA and control system networks\nCCTV and surveillance systems\nVoice and communications platforms\nPassenger information and operational technology systems\nCyber security and network protection solutions\nBackbone communications and transmission networks\nYou'll work closely with customers, delivery partners, project teams, systems engineers and technical stakeholders, translating business and operational requirements into innovative, secure and scalable network architectures.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced network professional who enjoys working across the full project lifecycle, from concept and design through to testing, implementation and commissioning.\nKey Responsibilities\nNetwork Design & Architecture\nLead the design and development of complex network architectures and telecommunications solutions\nDeliver technical designs that meet performance, security, quality and safety requirements\nProduce and review:Network architecture documentation\nHigh- and low-level designs\nNetwork diagrams\nIP addressing and subnetting strategies\nSecurity architecture designs\nCable schedules and diversity plans\nTechnical configurations\n\nTechnical Expertise\nEnsure designs align with customer requirements, industry standards and operational needs\nDevelop secure and resilient network solutions for critical infrastructure environments\nProduce system requirements, specifications and technical proposals\nPresent and explain architectural designs to customers and project stakeholders\nProject Delivery\nSupport projects throughout the full systems engineering lifecycle\nProduce and review test specifications\nSupport integration, testing, commissioning and operational deployment activities\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomes\nStakeholder Engagement\nBuild strong relationships with customers, suppliers and delivery partners\nAct as a trusted technical authority for network and communications solutions\nWork closely with engineering, project and innovation teams to influence technical strategy and delivery approaches\nWhat We're Looking For\nEssential Skills & Experience\nDegree qualification in Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)\nExtensive experience designing and delivering enterprise and operational technology network solutions\nStrong expertise in:LAN/WAN network design\nNetwork security architecture\nRouting and switching technologies\nCritical infrastructure or safety-related environments\n\nDemonstrable knowledge of the systems engineering lifecycle\nExperience working within quality and safety-driven industries\nExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills\nAbility to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences\nAbility to deliver high-quality solutions within demanding project timescales\nCisco certification at CCNP level or above, or equivalent practical expertise\nDesirable Experience\nExperience in one or more of the following areas would be highly advantageous:\nSoftware Defined Networking (SDN)\nNetwork automation\nVirtualisation technologies\nData centre networking\nNext-generation firewalls\nSIEM and cyber security platforms\nThreat intelligence solutions\nIdentity and Access Management (IAM)\nOperational technology and industrial control systems\nExperience working within rail, transportation, utilities, defence or other critical infrastructure sectors would be particularly beneficial.\nProfessional accreditations such as Chartered Engineer status or relevant industry licences are welcomed.\nRullion supports applications from a diverse talent pool.
