Solar & Storage\nJob Type: Contract\nIR35 Status: Inside IR35\nStart date: ASAP\nDuration: 12 months\nPay rate: Up to £650 per day Umbrella\nHybrid/Remote Working: Remote with a team meeting 1x a month for 2 days (London, Edinburgh, Durham)\nHours of work: 40 hours per week\nRole information:\nAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Specialist to join a growing renewable energy team, supporting the delivery of solar, battery energy storage systems and private wire projects across the UK.\nThis role will involve managing end-to-end procurement activities for major renewable energy construction projects, ensuring value for money, commercial efficiency and compliance with established procurement procedures.\nWorking closely with engineering, construction, commercial and project delivery teams, you will play a key role in sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts and supporting the development of innovative low-carbon energy infrastructure.\nKey Responsibilities\nManage the full procurement lifecycle, from supplier prequalification and tender preparation through to contract negotiation and award.\nIdentify, assess and select suitable suppliers and contractors for upcoming projects and development initiatives.\nPrepare and issue Invitations to Tender (ITTs) for engineering, construction and equipment packages.\nEvaluate tender submissions, lead clarification discussions and ensure technical and commercial compliance.\nLead contract negotiations for packages valued between £250,000 and £30 million, securing competitive pricing and managing commercial risk.\nPrepare procurement governance documentation and support approval processes for financial commitments.\nPrepare purchase orders and contracts for goods, works and services in collaboration with internal stakeholders.\nDevelop and implement procurement strategies and plans aligned with project objectives.\nMonitor supplier and framework contract performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and increased efficiency.\nSupport commercial management activities, including warranty claims, disputes, contract amendments and variations.\nBuild and maintain strong supplier relationships, promoting collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.\nEnsure all procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures and relevant contractual requirements.\nOccasional travel to UK and international offices, as well as supplier locations, may be required.\nPeriodic travel to other EDF Renewables offices in UK and France, and supplier visits may be required. \nQualifications/Experience Required\nExperience working within procurement, commercial management, quantity surveying or a related project environment.\nExperience with NEC and FIDIC contract suites\nA strong understanding of procurement principles, processes and best practice.\nProven experience developing tender documentation and managing competitive tendering exercises.\nExperience negotiating contracts with suppliers and contractors to achieve value for money and manage commercial risk.\nExperience managing complex subcontract packages and construction or engineering contracts.\nA sound understanding of contract law and commercial risk management.\nStrong communication, negotiation and influencing skills.\nThe ability to manage competing priorities and deliver against challenging deadlines.\nExcellent stakeholder engagement and supplier relationship management capabilities.\nDesirable Qualifications and Experience\nMCIPS or RICS qualification, or actively working towards professional membership.\nExperience in the renewable energy sector, particularly solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS) or related technologies.\nExperience in a capital-intensive industry, such as utilities, oil and gas, mining, infrastructure or defence.\nExperience supporting large-scale construction and energy infrastructure projects.\nInterested in this position? please click \"apply now\"\nWe try to respond to all applicants, but sometimes this is not possible due to high volumes of applications; if you have not heard from us within 14 days, regrettably it means you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.\nCompany information:\nThis contract is being advertised by Rullion Ltd.\nSince 1978, Rullion has been securing exceptional candidates for a range of clients; from large well-known brands, to SMEs and start-ups.
