This is a high-profile role where you will oversee complex capital projects from concept and business case approval through to procurement, installation, commissioning, and operational handover.\nThis is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing cutting-edge technical facilities that will support engineering, testing, verification, and product development activities for years to come.\nThe Role\nAs Project Manager, you will take ownership of multiple technical workstreams across specialist laboratories, test bays, manufacturing and development environments, workshops, and associated support facilities.\nWorking closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, contractors, procurement teams, and engineering consultants, you will ensure all facility infrastructure, equipment, and operational requirements are delivered safely, compliantly, and on schedule.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead the planning, governance, and delivery of the Innovation Centre and Electronics Laboratory projects.\nManage investment approvals, business cases, governance processes, and senior stakeholder reporting.\nOversee capital equipment procurement, relocation, installation, commissioning, and validation activities.\nDrive project schedules, budgets, dependencies, risk management, and change control processes.\nCoordinate cross-functional teams, external consultants, suppliers, and contractors to achieve project objectives.\nResolve technical, operational, and commercial challenges while maintaining project momentum.\nImplement effective project management controls throughout design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover phases.\nEnsure facilities, infrastructure, and equipment meet operational, safety, and compliance requirements before handover.\nAbout You\nTo be successful in this role, you will have:\nProven experience delivering complex capital, facilities, engineering, laboratory, or technical infrastructure projects.\nStrong project planning, governance, commercial, and stakeholder management skills.\nExperience presenting to senior leadership teams and governance boards.\nA track record of managing suppliers, contractors, consultants, and procurement activities.\nThe ability to lead multiple workstreams simultaneously whilst delivering against budget, quality, scope, and schedule targets.\nExcellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.\nDesirable Experience\nExperience working within regulated engineering, laboratory, healthcare, manufacturing, or other highly controlled environments.\nProfessional project management qualifications such as APM PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, or equivalent.\nWhy Apply?\nCompetitive daily rate of £500 per day (Inside IR35).\nInitial 6-month contract with a significant and business-critical project.\nOpportunity to lead the delivery of advanced technical and innovation facilities.\nExposure to senior stakeholders and strategic investment programmes.\nChance to make a lasting impact on future engineering and technology capabilities.\nInterested?
