This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on role that combines warehouse activities, stock control, administration, and technical materials management.\nThe position offers a unique blend of blue collar, grey collar, and white collar responsibilities, making it ideal for candidates who enjoy both physical and system-based work.\nThe Role\nWorking within a busy engineering environment, you'll be responsible for ensuring the efficient movement, control, and administration of materials and components that support fleet maintenance operations.\nThis role is approximately 50% physical stock handling and 50% systems administration, requiring strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work across multiple systems and stakeholders.\nKey Responsibilities\nStock & Materials Management\nCarry out goods receipt, goods issue, and consumption transactions.\nManage daily stock movements and material handling activities.\nPerform stock checks, cycle counts, and inventory adjustments.\nMonitor stock levels and request replenishments where required.\nSupport the NCR (Non-Conformance Report) process by arranging returns to suppliers for warranty claims.\nCoordinate transport movements between depots and suppliers.\nEnsure materials are stored, handled, and recorded correctly.\nAdministration & Systems\nProcess stock transactions using MMS systems.\nUtilise SAP to understand material master data and technical records.\nUse Power Apps to arrange transportation and support operational requirements.\nMaintain accurate records and inventory data.\nSupport wider depot administration and logistics activities.\nTechnical Support\nDevelop an understanding of engineering materials, train components, and handling requirements.\nLiaise with engineering and operational teams to ensure materials availability.\nSupport material traceability and compliance requirements.\nWhat We're Looking For\nEssential\nFull UK Driving Licence\nPrevious experience within stores, materials, logistics, warehousing, inventory, or supply chain environments\nComfortable using computer systems to manage stock and materials transactions\nStrong organisational skills and attention to detail\nAbility to carry out physical material handling duties safely\nGood communication skills and ability to work with multiple departments\nDesirable\nExperience with SAP, Maximo, Cormap, MMS, or similar inventory systems\nKnowledge of rail, automotive, engineering, manufacturing, or heavy industry environments\nForklift Truck (FLT) Licence\nUnderstanding of technical or engineered components and materials\nTransferable skills from any industry are welcomed.
