Come join our team!\nAs a Region Trainer, you will be the driving force behind building a culture of safety excellence across multiple sites. You’ll equip new hires with knowledge and confidence to work safely from day one, ensure our CMV drivers operate with skill and compliance, and keep our teams aligned with OSHA, DOT, and FMCSA regulations. Your work will directly reduce incidents, improve operational efficiency, and protect both our people and the communities we serve.\nResponsibilities of Position:\nLead new hire safety orientation sessions that set the tone for a safety-first mindset from day one\nDeliver Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) driver training, covering pre-trip inspections, defensive driving, load securement, and safe operating practices\nConduct OSHA, DOT, and FMCSA compliance training for all operational roles, ensuring regulatory requirements are met and exceeded\nPartner with Region/Area Safety and Heavy Equipment / PIT subject matter experts to develop and manage qualified HE and Certified PIT training programs\nMaintain accurate training documentation, including attendance records, certifications, and compliance reports for audits and internal tracking\nDevelop and maintain a process to measure and document training competencies through knowledge checks or other means\nFacilitate daily toolbox talks and safety huddles, providing relevant, engaging, and actionable safety messaging\nPerform field observations and ride a-longs to coach employees in real-world scenarios and reinforce safe work habits\nPartner with operations leaders to identify training needs, develop targeted programs, and address safety trends or recurring issues\nSupport incident investigations by providing training-related insights and recommending corrective actions\nAssist with site level health & safety inspections/audits for compliance verification\nPerform other duties as assigned\nSupervisory Responsibility:\nThis position will not manage employees\nSkills & Abilities Needed for Position:\nMust have the ability to train others in a clear, understandable, and professional manner\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers\nMust have knowledge of DOT regulations and OSHA/industrial safety compliance as they relate to the waste hauling industry\nKnowledge and understanding of the mechanical functions of commercial vehicles and equipment\nComputer proficiency with working knowledge of Windows applications\nKnowledge of the waste industry and hauling operations\nAbility to operate a commercial vehicle in accordance with DOT regulations/compliance\nMust be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and training\nExperience & Knowledge Needed for Position:\nWaste industry experience is a plus\nUnderstanding of DOT and OSHA requirements is required\n5+ years experience in keeping detailed and accurate records in a safety environment\n5+ years experience in reading & interpreting federal, state and local Safety regulations\nPrevious experience conducting instructor led or practical training preferred\nPhysical Requirements in a Regular Workday:\nOccasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 35 lbs\nRarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 50 lbs\nFrequently working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions\nFrequently working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter\nRarely stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling\nRarely climbing and/or balancing\nContinuously sitting/standing/walking\nAdditional Working Conditions/Aspects:\nMust have at least a valid Class B CDL\nMust have a valid DOT Medical Card or able to obtain prior to hire\nMust be at least 19 years of age\nNo more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years\nMust not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years\nPossible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas\nExposure to residential and commercial waste\nAbility to travel between offices, as required\nAbility to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed\nAbility to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays\nLegally eligible to work in the United States\nValid driver’s license (if applicable)\nMust successfully complete pre-employment testing\nMust be able to read and speak the English language\nThis job description is intended to describe the general nature, complexity, and level of work to be performed by employees assigned to this position and is not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and/or skills required.
