Come join our team!\nRoute Supervisors are responsible for the supervision of a group of drivers to ensure safe services to customers. Route Supervisors assist management with hiring, training, coaching, performance evaluating/monitoring, and counseling of direct reports with an emphasis on safety, customer service, and productivity.\nResponsibilities of Position:\nManage the daily activities and performance of route drivers\nTrain, coach, and direct employees to improve their overall performance\nMonitor and enforce quality and safety standards and ensure all compliance goals are met or exceeded\nRun routes as necessary (absences, vacations, vehicle breakdowns)\nMonitor and track employee attendance and all other required documentation relating to performance management\nPerform and monitor driver observations and vehicle inspections\nPlan, distribute, monitor, and follow-up on daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced per company standards and agreements\nConduct investigations for accidents, injuries, and property damage claims\nFill in during the absence of other supervisors/office employees or drivers\nPerform other duties as assigned by management\nSupervisory Responsibility:\nThis position will manage 6-20 employees\nThis position will not oversee and direct other managers\nSkills & Abilities Needed for Position:\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nAbility to lead and develop a team\nComputer skills; working knowledge of Windows applications, Microsoft applications\nProven customer service skills\nKnowledge of the area with the ability to read maps\nMust be able to work independently, make decisions, and resolve problems\nMust have knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations\nAbility to drive a truck with manual transmission, a plus\nExperience & Knowledge Needed for Position:\nPrevious management experience is preferred\nPrevious waste industry experience is a plus\n2+ years of truck driving experience is a plus\nPhysical Requirements in a Regular Workday:\nFrequently lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 50 lbs\nOccasionallylifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 100 lbs\nFrequentlyworking outside in changing temperatures\nOccasionallyworking in wet/humid conditions\nOccasionallyworking in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter\nFrequentlystooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling\nFrequentlyclimbing and/or balancing\nFrequentlysitting/standing/walking\nAdditional Working Conditions/Aspects:\nMust have at least a valid Class B CDL\nMust have a valid DOT Medical Card or able to obtain prior to hire\nMust be at least 19 years of age\nNo more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years\nMust not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years\nPossible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas\nExposure to residential and commercial waste\nAbility to travel between offices, as required\nAbility to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed\nAbility to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays\nMust be available for 24-hour emergency calls\nLegally eligible to work in the United States\nValid driver’s license (if applicable)\nMust successfully complete pre-employment testing\nMust be able to read and speak the English language\nThis job description is intended to describe the general nature, complexity, and level of work to be performed by employees assigned to this position and is not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and/or skills required.
