Come join our team!\nTractor Trailer Drivers are responsible for hauling trailers of waste, recyclables, and/or leachate to a disposal site, recycling plant or customer site. Tractor Trailer Drivers may also be required to climb to hook/unhook trailers, move items to smooth the load, and secure tarps.\nResponsibilities of Position:\nOperate truck in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies to ensure timely and efficient pick up of trailers and deliver to designated destination\nRoutinely enter/exit truck multiple times day\nConduct pre-trip/post trip inspections and complete DVIR logs\nVisually inspect proper load securement\nMaintain cleanliness of truck cab\nMaintain and update route and driver log sheets\nProfessionally interact with internal and external customers to provide excellent customer service\nResponsible for picking up bales from the ground at various stops and using a skid steer and ramps to load them into 53ft van trailers as needed\nUtilize an app on your phone to log bale counts and number of stops each day as needed \nOperate heavy equipment to load trailers for hauling as needed\nAssist Roll Off line of business by operating Roll Off truck as needed\nHaul leachate as needed\nPerform other duties as assigned\nSupervisory Responsibility:\nThis position will not manage employees\nSkills & Abilities Needed for Position:\nAbility to read and understand a map\nExcellent truck driving/maneuvering skills\nAbility to work independently\nMust be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training\nGood written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers\nExperience & Knowledge Needed for Position:\nGeneral knowledge of truck mechanics\n2 years CDL truck driving experience preferred\nWaste industry experience, a plus\nA valid Class A CDL is required (Tanker Endorsement preferred)\nExperience on a skid steer preferred\nPhysical Requirements in a Regular Workday:\nFrequently lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 20 lbs\nOccasionallylifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 50 lbs\nRarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 100 lbs\nContinuously working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions\nContinuously working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter\nOccasionally stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling\nOccasionally climbing and/or balancing\nContinuously sitting\nOccasionallystanding/walking\nAdditional Working Conditions/Aspects:\nMust have a valid DOT Medical Card or able to obtain prior to hire\nMust be at least 19 years of age\nNo more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years\nMust not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years\nPossible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas\nExposure to residential and commercial waste\nAbility to travel between offices, as required\nAbility to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed\nAbility to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays\nLegally eligible to work in the United States\nValid driver’s license (if applicable)\nMust successfully complete pre-employment testing\nMust be able to read and speak the English language\nThis job description is intended to describe the general nature, complexity, and level of work to be performed by employees assigned to this position and is not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and/or skills required.
