Our creative and talented team of over 2000 people across every corner of the world, help us remain the global leader in protective paints and coatings for both home and industry.\nAs our Maintenance Mechanic, you will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment and facility systems while supporting equipment installations, modifications, and process improvements. This role requires strong mechanical, electrical, and controls knowledge to diagnose equipment issues, perform repairs, fabricate components, and ensure safe, reliable operations.\nTASKS PROFILE:\nTypical tasks for this position include (but are not limited to) the following:\nRepair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.\nPerform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.\nFollow checklists to inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions.\nUse tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.\nAssemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems, machinery, and equipment.\nDiagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.\nInspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.\nRecord type and cost of maintenance or repair work.\nClean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.\nDismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.\nRequired Skills:\n3+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing environment; preferably in chemical/paint manufacturing\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\nMust have expertise in packaging equipment, plumbing, and pipefitting, with skills in electrical work and instrument calibration considered a definite plus\nDemonstrated ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex packaging and material-handling equipment is required\nAbility to do basic math.\nAccurately enter and retrieve computer data.\nAbility to operate machinery\nAbility to solve problems in a team environment.\nActive participation in our Continuous Improvement Process.\nAbility to consistently lift 50 pounds.\nWilling to work overtime as required.\nResponsibilities/Expectations:\nCommunicate with Supervisors, peers, or subordinates: provide information to supervisors and co-workers in written form or in person.\nMaintain a good record of attendance and punctuality.\nLearn all manual tasks performed within the department.\nPerform tasks assigned using specific operating procedures, and following department specific quality control processes and procedures.\nTreat people with dignity and respect.\nConduct all business with integrity.\nAdhere to Rust-Oleum Corporation Quality principles and participate in all departmental and company-wide Quality activities.\nFollow all safety procedures and company policies.\nAdditional Consideration Given to Those With:\nExposure to quality programs\nPaint/Coatings/chemical industry knowledge or experience\nExperience with a continuous process discipline such as Six Sigma/Lean/TQM manufacturing environment.\nPrevious experience with safety programs\nJob Type: Full-time\nPay: $28 - $35/hour, with a 36-hour work schedule and pay equivalent to 40 hours per week.
