You will gain broad exposure to RWEST’s trading activities and end-to-end accounting landscape while bringing your technical expertise and ideas to a collaborative, business-facing team.\nAbout the role\nSupport data set-up and maintenance for monthly, quarterly and annual Commodity Accounting closing processes.\nAnalyse accounting data and respond to data-related enquiries.\nDevelop and enhance database interfaces and data solutions across the accounting IT landscape.\nAutomate recurring processes to strengthen reporting, controls and self-service.\nPartner with business users throughout requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing and troubleshooting.\nAct as a data-focused contact for internal and external auditors.\nJob requirements and experience\nStrong programming skills in Microsoft SQL, T-SQL and Python.\nExperience with VBA, Excel, Access and SAP S/4HANA.\nInitial experience in the energy sector and a basic understanding of commodity markets.\nExperience embedding AI or automation into recurring data processes with appropriate controls.\nProven ability to collaborate with business users throughout the full solution lifecycle.\nCuriosity and confidence to challenge complexity constructively and develop practical solutions.\nOwnership of outcomes, with the drive to deliver reliable solutions in a changing environment.\nAdvantageous, but not essential\nExperience with Databricks or strong business analysis skills.\nSound knowledge of accounting principles, ideally including IFRS and HGB.\nExperience in commodity trading, energy markets or financial reporting environments.\nExperience designing and implementing data automation solutions for finance or accounting functions.\nFurther we welcome applications from individuals who may not be able to commit to full-time roles.
