{"id":1183281,"url":"https://alion.io/job/rwe-inventory-control-specialist-ii","title":"Inventory Control Specialist II","company":{"id":45975,"name":"RWE","domain":"rwe.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/rwe","size_band":"501-1000","is_staffing_agency":false,"is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"SuccessFactors","truth_index":null},"role":"Administrative","role_family":"Administrative","seniority":"middle","employment_type":null,"work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"explicit","locations":[],"countries":[],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":43000,"max_usd":86000,"period":"year","method":"role_seniority_country_remote_cell","sample_n":594},"experience_years_min":3,"visa_sponsorship":true,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[{"name":"Microsoft Excel","optional":false},{"name":"Outlook","optional":false}],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-09-12T02:00:00Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-09-12","last_verified_at":"2026-09-24T23:46:53Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":12,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":12},"description":"RWE Americas, LLC\nTo start as soon as possible, full time, permanent\nFunctional area: Operations & Maintenance\nRemuneration: Non-Exempt\nThe Inventory Control Specialist II operates within the Operations organization through the Operations Optimization department, reporting through Plant Logistics and Maintenance to the Inventory Control Supervisor.\nThis role is responsible for ensuring master data integrity, optimizing inventory levels, and supporting site operations through accurate material availability and warranty management.\nAt the ICS II level, the position is expected to demonstrate advanced ownership of inventory processes, provide analytical insight, and support continuous improvement initiatives across multiple sites.\nRole Responsibilities:\n Core Inventory & SAP ManagementCreate and manage Purchase Requisitions (PRs) to support site operations and Balance of Plant (BOP) maintenance activities\nPerform all inventory transactions accurately within SAP (goods movements, transfers, adjustments, etc)\nMaintain accurate and up-to-date master data, including material creation, extensions, and updates\nEnsure inventory levels, bin locations, and material tracking are correctly maintained in SAP MM\nSupport accurate recordkeeping and reconciliation of all inventory levels across assigned sites[\n\n Inventory Optimization & AnalysisAnalyze product usage trends and adjust MRP settings (with Operations approval) to optimize stock levels\nProactively monitor and maintain inventory thresholds to ensure material availability\nTrack serialized components and ensure compliance with applicable standards\nProvide inventory forecasting insights and recommend improvements to stocking strategies[\n\nOperations & Site SupportSupport multiple sites independently with minimal supervision\nPerform quarterly inventory counts and maintain high accuracy levels\nConduct monthly site visits, inspections, and operational observations\nStay current on required parts, materials, and maintenance strategies for assigned sites\nAct as the liaison between OEMs, vendors, and site operations\n\n Procurement & Vendor CoordinationReview vendor quotes, specifications, and technical cut sheets in coordination with Engineering and Procurement\nManage open supplier orders, track delivery timelines, and communicate risks to stakeholders (risk reporting)[\nIdentify and evaluate alternative parts or solutions when applicable\nAssist with resolving invoicing discrepancies and supplier issues\n\n Warranty & Lifecycle ManagementManage and track warranty claims for applicable sites\nSupport Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) processes and material obsolescence planning\nCoordinate with OEMs to resolve warranty-related issues and part replacements\n\n Process Improvement & Leadership (ICS II Focus)Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to inventory workflows and procedures\nAssist in developing and refining inventory control standards and best practices\nServe as a subject matter resource for SAP and inventory processes within the team\nSupport training and onboarding of junior Inventory Control Specialists\nLead or assist with special projects related to inventory optimization, logistics, or system improvements\n\nSafety & ComplianceDemonstrate a strong safety-first mindset and promote a culture of safety\nMaintain organized, clean, and compliant warehouse environments\nEnsure proper material handling, labeling, and storage practices\n\nJob Requirements and Experience:\nHigh School diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or technical field preferred\nMinimum 3 years of experience in inventory, warehouse, or material management (ICS II level expectation); Minimum 3 years of experience with SAP MM / PM or similar ERP systems\nWillingness to obtain and maintain:Forklift certification\nCPR / First Aid\n\nStrong working knowledge of:Goods receipts, goods issues, and inventory reconciliation\nMaterial tracking and stock level management\nSAP PR/PO processes and inventory transactions\n\nAdvanced proficiency in SAP data management and reporting\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, reporting, formulas); working knowledge of Word and Outlook\nAbility to analyze inventory data, trends, and demand signals to make recommendations\nStrong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues independently\nAbility to multi-task\nAbility to research and resolve invoicing, inventory, and material transaction issues\nAbility to independently support multiple sites and prioritize workload effectively\nAbility to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment\nExperience reviewing technical documentation, vendor quotes, and specifications\nAbility to identify alternative parts or sourcing strategies when required\nStrong verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels\nAbility to influence decisions through data-driven recommendations\nDemonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and vendors\nMentor or support junior team members (ICS II expectation)\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to operate forklifts, telehandlers, or similar equipment (or willingness to become certified)\nWillingness to travel up to ~40% with occasional overnight stays\nAbility to work in varying environmental and weather conditions\nAvailability outside normal hours to support critical site issues as needed\nApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
