Joining our dynamic team of experts, you will work with high autonomy and gain significant visibility across RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST) and with external stakeholders.\nAbout the role\nMonitor and analyse German and European regulatory developments, translating them into clear business implications.\nManage day-to-day engagement with national and EU governments, regulators and legislative authorities, with a primary focus on gas markets and low-carbon gases, alongside relevant electricity market topics.\nPartner with Trading, Analysis, Risk and other RWEST functions to develop and shape effective regulatory positions.\nRepresent RWEST’s interests in trade associations and relevant stakeholder groups.\nAdvocate regulatory positions through presentations, consultation responses, written submissions, and other external communications.\nHelp the team navigate significant market, economic, and regulatory change while moving from monitoring issues to driving the agenda.\nJob requirements and experience\nAt least three years’ experience in wholesale gasmarkets and German and European energy regulation, gained in government, a regulator, industry association or energy firm. Additional experience in electricity markets would be an advantage.\nA university degree in Economics, Business, Law or related discipline.\nStrong analytical skills, with the ability to turn complex regulatory developments into clear, actionable business recommendations.\nA responsible and curious approach to using AI tools.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German, with the confidence to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders.\nWillingness to travel frequently, sometimes at short notice.\nAbility to take informed decisions, constructively challenge ideas and build trusted relationships across organisational boundaries.\nAdvantageous, but not essential\nExperience with biofuels, LNG or hydrogen.\nExperience leading and working with governments, regulators, industry associations and stakeholder organisations.\nWhat we value most is someone who continuously demonstrates courage, thrives to create impact and seeks to build trusting, collaborative relationships.
