This role is responsible for safe execution of scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting and repair activities, training, and safety exercises. This job also maintains accountability and readiness of plant tools, equipment, and vehicles; provides technical guidance to the O&M team; tracks, and maintains records of service activities both scheduled and unscheduled through the digital maintenance management system; and helps maintain the work ethic and culture of the plant O&M team.\nRole Responsibilities:\nAssure that all operation and maintenance activities are performed in a safe manner consistent with policies and procedures established for the wind farm site\nAssist in conducting acceptance and performance tests on systems and equipment following planned maintenance or outages\nPerform safety and other wind farm related tasks when assigned and fill in as back up to personnel at other RWE sites when necessary\nAssist with turbine maintenance including services, major component work and replacement, and troubleshooting\nAssist with Balance of Plant procedures as needed, including substation and collection system maintenance\nAdherence to the company’s values and behaviors\nOther duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager\nJob Requirements and Experiences:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Sciences or related field from an accredited school preferred\nMinimum 7 years of work experience in operations and/or maintenance in power generation, transmission and/or distribution, with at least 4 years of wind turbine experience\nGamesa, GE, and Vestas Wind Turbine Experience preferred\nAlternatively 2 year or 4 year college degree from an accredited school (other than correspondence or on-line) in a technical science like engineering, physics, power, or closely similar\nMilitary experience in a technical field (electrical, electronics or mechanical)\nLicense or Certification experience substitutions include Current Journeyman, Current Master Elecrician License, and Wind Tech Certificate\nUnrestricted driver license in good standing\nWilling to relocate to within 1 hour drive of site\nAbility to follow and create standard work instructions\nAbility to lead crane rigging & signaling operations, and train others in the field\nKnowledge of and experience with the use of hand and power tools and train others in the field\nKnowledge of environmental and safety policies and procedures\nAbility to work within tight deadlines\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team\nAbility and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned\nExpert PC/Laptop skills and ability to train others\nAbility to create, save, manipulate text, formats & formulas in documents and spreadsheets in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and utilize Teams for meetings, and ability to train others\nAbility to independently prepare & present technical presentations\nAbility to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team\nMotivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities\nAbility to independently perform complex troubleshooting and repairs of electromechanical systems, and train others in the field\nAbility to read, interpret, and follow electrical, mechanical, & hydraulic circuit drawings, and ability to train others\nIdentify energy isolation points and implement LOTO for protection\nExpert understanding of electromechanical relay, hydraulic accumulator, linear transducer, and electrical motor, and ability to train others\nExpert knowledge of power electronics, motor drives, AC/DC converters, and ability to train others\nKnowledge of computer network communication protocol and theory of operation is desired\nAbility to understand and communicate root causes required\nGood communication skills and must value being part of a team\nSafety- Promote safety for all at all times\nAbility to fill out JHA/LOTO/Tailboard forms without assistance and ability to train others\nInitiative - Able to work with minimum supervision and make decisions for all issues related to his/her discipline(s) with limited and/or available information\nWind Farm site location including work in and around energized wind turbine generators and balance of plant equipment (substation, pad mount transformers, etc.). The work will occur within an office, warehouse, in turbines and outdoors\nPhysical Requirements:\nMust be able to maintain a personal weight limitation of 270 lbs.\nMust be able to climb wind towers on a daily basis. During this task, employee must be able to open/close hatch doors and identify potential safety hazards\nMust be able to balance to work in closed and small swaying areas on top of and within wind towers\nMust be able to balance to walk across small surface areas to access areas within wind turbines \nAbility to push/pull/lift tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.\nAbility to work safely in extreme environments (hot sun, cold, etc.)\nAbility to walk, climb, and stand extensively during the work day\nThis position is a field-based role with travel to mutlipe local RWE wind farms and field locations\nMust be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time\n\nApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
