This hands-on leadership role supervises technicians and contractors, coordinates maintenance activities, monitors equipment performance, and ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate brings practical experience in renewable energy operations and maintenance, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to coach and lead a frontline technical team across wind, solar, and energy storage systems.\nRole Responsibilities:\nOversee daily operational activities within assigned unit/shift to ensure efficiency and compliance with organizational standards\nCoordinate maintenance schedules within area of responsibility to minimize downtime\nMonitor performance of machinery and systems, initiating corrective actions and escalating as needed\nDirectly supervise and mentor maintenance staff and technicians, ensuring proper training and adherence to safety regulations\nOversee day-to-day contractor activity on-site, ensuring adherence to project timelines, safety protocols, and quality standards\nManage timecard approvals and attendance tracking for team members\nPrepare reports on operational metrics and maintenance activities for the Operations Manager\nIdentify cost-saving opportunities for routine maintenance and repairs; monitor and report on unit-level spend\nManage performance for team members, including goal-setting, evaluations, and corrective action as needed\nProvide coaching and mentoring to support individual growth and team efficiency\nSupport and help implement continuous improvement initiatives within the team\nLead or support root cause analysis and problem-solving for unit-level operational and maintenance issues\nEnsure team-level adherence to OSHA, NFPA, EPA, NERC, and PUC regulatory standards\nKnowledge & ApplicationApplies working technical knowledge of renewable energy systems, including wind, solar, and energy storage technologies\nMonitors equipment performance and supports day-to-day operational efficiency\nFollows industry standards and regulations to maintain compliance in daily operations\n\nComplexity & Problem SolvingResolves routine operational issues using established, well-defined procedures\nIdentifies basic equipment performance issues and escalates or corrects as appropriate\nWorks alongside technicians to troubleshoot common system errors\n\nCollaboration & InteractionCoordinates with peers and adjacent teams to support execution of maintenance tasks\nInteracts with on-site vendors and contractors to support daily operational needs\nSupports a positive team environment to maintain morale and engagement\n\nScope of Management & SupervisionDirectly supervises frontline technicians, ensuring adherence to daily operational protocols\nPrioritizes tasks and resources within the unit/shift to meet maintenance schedules\nMonitors individual performance and provides direct, hands-on coaching on technical skills\n\nJob Requirements and Experience:\nHigh School diploma or equivalent is required \nBachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience\nMinimum of 5 years of relevant experience required\nMinimum 2 years experience in O&M; prior lead or informal supervisory experience preferred\nWorking knowledge of technical troubleshooting and equipment operation\nUp to 50% travel required\nPhysical Requirements:\nMust be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time\nAbility to push/pull/lift tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. \nAbility to work safely in extreme environments (hot sun, cold, etc.) \nApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
