Curious?\nAbout the role\nGain practical insight into electrical system design for offshore wind projects.\nDevelop an understanding of the interfaces between transmission systems, onshore and offshore substations and wind turbine generators.\nBuild awareness of the critical importance of safety throughout project design and operation.\nWork across the project lifecycle from development through construction to operation, supporting a robust through-life electrical system design.\nContribute to the main electrical system design, including onshore and offshore HVAC and HVDC systems.\nCreate electrical system simulation models and analyse system behaviour and grid code compliance.\nVisit project sites to gain first-hand insight into their development and delivery.\nTake ownership of a defined project with a scope agreed by the team.\nJob requirements and experience\nOngoing studies in Electrical Engineering.\nEligibility to complete a year in industry placement as part of the degree programme.\nVery good written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to coordinate workloads independently and meet tight deadlines.\nConfidence working in a diverse team environment and engaging with a range of stakeholders.\nWillingness to travel to other sites when required, with travel expenses covered.\nMotivation is crucial; your cover letter will tell us why you´re a suitable candidate for this opportunity, and how it aligns with your studies & career plans.\nA minimum of five years’ residence in the UK due to the potential requirement for National Security Vetting.\nPlease refer to the UK Government's National Security Vetting guidance for further details and eligibility requirements.\nAdvantageous, but not essential\nKnowledge or experience of electrical power engineering, electrical systems and design, plant or electrical distribution.\nYour benefits\nA salary aligned with the Real Living Wage.\nThe opportunity to contribute actively to the Growing Green mission.\nHands-on experience as a core team member working alongside global colleagues.\nMentoring and a development programme with other interns across the business.\nMeaningful involvement in key projects from day one, supporting the development of marketable skills.\nAn environment built on trust and respect where fresh perspectives and new ideas are welcomed.\nComprehensive professional training, including a Global Wind Organisation certificate, Wind Turbine Safety Rules training and in-house technical training.\nThis position is aimed at those currently studying who are eligible for a Year in Industry Placement.
