This job involves working with a team of scientists to develop a light-adjustable intraocular lens for use in cataract and refractive surgery.\nThe position requires a working knowledge of standard optical testing techniques (interferometry, MTF, profilometry, etc), experience with optical instrument design and assembly, and basic aberration theory. Experience with human vision is desired, but not required. Duties include working directly with the light adjustable lens technology, maintenance and calibration of equipment, optical measurements, design of experiments, and design of optomechanical fixtures. Successful candidates will have the ability to prioritize, work independently, and to get along with others.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nAssists with optical testing of the RxLAL and related products, including interferometric, MTF, regular product monitoring, and other measurements.\nWork in the laboratory to assist with development of nomograms for the light adjustable lens.\nPrepare and present data summary and engineering documentation.\nConfers with engineering and technical staff regarding fabrication and testing of prototype systems, and modifies design as required.\nDesign and commercialize new products based on light adjustable materials technology.\nEnsure that all laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.\nModify hardware equipment as needed.\nDesign and build test and manufacturing fixtures as needed.\nRequirements\nREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:\nPractical experience with general optical testing techniques and metrology including interferometry, MTF, radius of curvature, etc.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office suite of software (or equivalent).\nExperience with designing, engineering, fabrication, and alignment of optical systems.\nSynthesizes complex or diverse information, collects and researches data, designs work flows and procedures.\nIdentifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, develops alternative solutions, works well in group problem solving situations.\nStrives to continuously build knowledge base and skills sets.\nPresents numerical data effectively and can read and interpret written information. \nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nNone\nEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:\nSuccessful candidates must have either a AS (with 3+ years of experience in related fields) or BS degree in optics, optical engineering, Physics, Chemistry or a related field.\nTraining to be completed per the training plan for this position as maintained in the document control system\nThe training requirements on TRN-10007 Insider Trading Policy, TRN-10008 Global Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy and TRN-10009 Code of Business Conducts and Ethics must be diligently completed within 30 days from the hiring date and on an annual basis\nCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:\nNone\nCOMPUTER SKILLS:\nWord Processing.\nSpreadsheet Software.\nMatlab or Mathcad or Mathematica or Maple\nProject Management System\n Notice to Staffing Agencies and Search Firms:\nRxSight does not accept unsolicited resumes or candidate submissions from staffing agencies or search firms for any employment opportunities.
